The shocking test results of 'Groom School' actor Kim Il-woo were revealed.
On the 26th, Channel A variety show "These Days' Men Life - Groom School" (hereinafter "Groom School") showed Kim Il-woo and Park Sun-young receiving their first joint health checkup in their lives.
That day Park Sun-young asked, "What do they usually check during an exam? You can't ignore family history." Kim Il-woo said, "There is no particular family history; my mother and father do not have it, but my grandfather had a stroke and my younger sibling had a brain hemorrhage. At some point I started paying attention to cerebral blood vessels and getting checked. It's not a situation that requires active treatment, but there is something a little unusual."
Kim Il-woo, who said he gets checked at least once a year, said, "Cerebral aneurysms are scary. Because something bad could happen suddenly, I'm always careful about that," which raised concern.
On the other hand, Park Sun-young said she had a family history of "diabetes." She said, "Both my mother and father have diabetes. Diabetes and thyroid problems are almost hereditary. Even though I exercise like that, my sugar levels are rising little by little. As you get older."
Park Sun-young, who usually likes sweets, confessed, "I eat less than before. Still, even when I cut back a bit, I can't resist the temptation of sweetness." Kim Il-woo nagged, "Sun-young eats the most sweets around me," and Park Sun-young said, "I'm cutting down a bit."
While undergoing various tests, Kim Il-woo could not hide his tension before the brain test. While Kim Il-woo went for the test, Park Sun-young also waited outside anxiously. In the studio Lee Da Hae asked, "Did you know Sun-young was waiting and worrying?" and Kim Il-woo said, "I didn't know. It's my first time seeing it," unable to take his eyes off.
Finally, the two underwent endoscopy. Unlike Park Sun-young, who woke from anesthesia during the test, Kim Il-woo was anesthetized but was in pain throughout the examination. Especially, Kim Il-woo had previously said his digestion was poor. During the test the doctor said, "This small-looking thing here," while focusing on the monitor, startling everyone.
Meanwhile, after finishing all the tests and meeting the doctor, the two heard about the test results. First, Park Sun-young was warned of risks for heart disease or stroke after her cholesterol levels came back high.
Next it was Kim Il-woo's turn. Blood tests and gastrointestinal tests all came back normal, but the brain MRI, for which there was a family history, showed abnormal findings and caused tension. The doctor said the aneurysm had grown slightly compared with previous test results and explained, "If blood pressure rises, the bulge could rupture," meaning it could lead directly to a brain hemorrhage.
Shocked by the results, Kim Il-woo was flustered, and the doctor added, "If it grows larger, intervention will be unavoidable. We'll connect you with a hospital that can treat it, so you should see a specialist and have a consultation." Worried, Park Sun-young told Kim Il-woo, "Oppa, this is something you must take care of."
