You Quiz on the Block paid tribute to actor the late Lee Soon-jae.
On the broadcast of tvN variety show You Quiz on the Block that aired on the 26th, footage of actor Lee Soon-jae, who appeared as a guest on episode 238 broadcast on April 3 last year, was shown again at the end of the program.
At the time, Lee Soon-jae said, "There is meaning in every person being born. There must be a reason I was born into this world. Whatever it is, you must do it with conviction," which moved viewers.
He also joked, "There were six founding members at TBC, and I'm the only one left. When I go, the six of us can meet in the afterlife," smiling as he showed a detached view of life.
Above all, Lee Soon-jae emphasized his passion for acting until the end, saying, "The happiest thing for us is to die while performing. Jokingly, they say the happiest moment is collapsing on stage."
He went on to quietly add about dedicating his life to acting into his nineties, "I ran around without much thought. That was my joy and reward."
The production team of You Quiz added, "We owe you a lifetime of thanks, teacher. Please rest in peace," quoting Lee Soon-jae's acceptance speech when he won the KBS Drama Awards grand prize, to mourn the deceased.
Lee Soon-jae passed away in the early hours of the 25th. He was 91. The funeral wake was set up in room 30 of the Asan Medical Center funeral hall in Seoul. Accordingly, Yoo Jae-suk and Cho Sae-ho also visited the wake today (the 26th) to see the deceased off.
The funeral procession will be held in the early hours of the 27th. Senior actor Jeong Bo-seok will preside over the ceremony, and fellow actors Kim Young-chul and Ha Ji-won will deliver eulogies. The burial site is Eden Paradise in Icheon. In addition, a condolence space for members of the public to remember the deceased was set up at the KBS annex in Yeouido, Seoul.
