Actor Seo Min-ju praised her chemistry with Heo Seong-tae.
On the 26th at a café in Hapjeong-dong, Seoul, an interview was held with Seo Min-ju, a lead actor in the film "Informer."
The film "Informer" (written and directed by Kim Seok, provided by NS ENM, produced by Popcorn Film, distributed by Movie Special City SMC) is a crime action comedy about former ace detective Oh Nam-hyeok (Heo Seong-tae), who after being demoted has lost his passion, will and investigative instincts, and informant Jo Tae-bong (Jo Bok-rae), who supplied information on major cases and pocketed untraceable money, getting accidentally drawn into a big scheme.
Ahead of its release, the "Informer" team is preparing to meet prospective audiences with all-around promotion on YouTube channels such as "Noppaku Tak Jae-hoon," "B-grade hearing," and "Amazing Saturday," as well as radio and broadcast appearances.
Regarding this, Seo Min-ju, who played detective "Lee So-young" in the film, joked, "I watched 'Noppaku Tak Jae-hoon' in advance. It felt like they gave everything for the film. As an actress, my image... I'm a bit worried. But as long as it's fun, that's enough," and added, "They also promote with things like reels. I'm really bad at that and it feels unfamiliar. I'm learning this time. Especially senior Heo Seong-tae came up with ideas. People around us said, 'Shoot this.' It helps. They show us. I'm doing it to work hard. I'll do it if given the chance."
She also spoke about her rapport with Heo Seong-tae. Seo Min-ju laughed, "The senior is like a captain. Even with promotions now. He suggested shooting reels and then shot seven reels on the spot. It was so fun. When else would I get to do this? He's full of passion and leads us, so I got excited and joined in."
She continued, "We met in almost every scene on set, and he's really an idea bank. Of course, at first we filmed according to the director's directions, but the senior would say, 'Let's do this this time,' and there were so many versions to shoot. I actually felt very comfortable and it was fun."
She also talked about the on-screen love line between Nam-hyeok and So-young. Seo Min-ju said, "It's not that I just accept the senior's one-sided love. I'm in a situation where I use that. Shouldn't I pretend to accept it? He knows she likes him. Acting coy for no reason. I thought of when I was a child. Also, the senior helped make me act well."
When asked about the two's love line after the film, Seo Min-ju added with a laugh, "It's an open ending. After that, they probably continued to work together. Detective Oh might remain by my side like a keyring man."
Meanwhile, "Informer" will be in theaters on Dec. 3.
