Actor Jang Dong-gun visited the funeral hall of the late Lee Soon-jae to offer his deep condolences.
Jang Dong-gun visited the late Lee Soon-jae's funeral hall set up at Asan Medical Center's funeral home in Songpa-gu, Seoul, on the 26th to pay his respects.
Wearing a mask and hiding his face, Jang Dong-gun, who visited the funeral hall, recalled his connection to the deceased after paying his respects, saying, "(Lee Soon-jae) and I once worked together on the film "Good Morning President." It's so sad," and reflected on his relationship with the late actor.
Jang Dong-gun said, "On set he was far more passionate than younger actors, so I reflected a lot and learned many things while filming alongside him."
He added, "I heard recently that his health had declined. It was unfortunate that his last performance was stopped on the day I had planned to go see it. So I came today to see him on his way. I hope he goes to a good place and rests peacefully," he said.
Born in 1934 in Hwaryeong, Hamgyeongbuk-do, the late Lee Soon-jae graduated from Seoul National University's department of philosophy and debuted in 1956 in the play "Beyond the Horizon." Becoming a contracted actor in the first class of TBC in 1965 and moving through the history of Korean broadcasting, the late Lee Soon-jae appeared in "I Will Also Become Human," "Donguibogam," "See and See Again," "The Three Kims Era," "Men of the Bathhouse," "The Rustic Period," "Land," "Mother Is Furious," "What Is Love," "Lament," "Queen Inmok," "Sangno," "Doklipmun," "Heo Jun," "Sangdo," "Yi San," "Unstoppable High Kick," "High Kick Through the Roof," and "Nonsense," and appeared in the plays "Long Life Store," "Grandpa Henri and I," "Death of a Salesman," "King Lear," and "Waiting for Godot."
The late Lee Soon-jae's funeral hall was set up in room 30 of Asan Medical Center's funeral home. The funeral procession will be held at 6:20 a.m. on the 27th, and the burial site is Eden Paradise in Icheon.
