The group &TEAM (앤팀) entered the U.S. Billboard charts for the first time since their debut. Having built successful activities in the K-pop main market beyond Japan, their expanding global popularity is drawing notable attention.
On the 25th, according to the latest chart released by Billboard in the U.S. (Nov. 29 issue), &TEAM ranked No. 1 on the "Emerging Artists" chart. "Emerging Artists" is a chart that selects noteworthy new artists by compiling various data such as streaming; album and song sales; radio airplay indicators; and social media response. It is regarded as one of the objective indicators that show which artists are standing out in the global music market.
Also, their Korean mini album 1st EP Back to Life placed No. 5 on Billboard's "World Albums," No. 12 on "Top Current Album Sales," and No. 13 on "Top Album Sales," among other major subcharts. Bolstered by this popularity, &TEAM ranked No. 78 on the "Billboard Artist 100." As the first local-focused group of HYBE's overseas subsidiary (under YX Labels of HYBE Japan), their shining results make one expect an even bigger leap forward.
Back to Life, released on Oct. 28, recorded first-day sales of 1,139,988 copies and immediately became a million-seller, and sold 1,222,022 copies in its first week (Oct. 28–Nov. 3), breaking &TEAM's own initial sales record. It went on to record the highest sales among Korean-language albums released that month (based on Hanteo Chart), earning evaluation that the group has entered the ranks of "top-tier groups."
Their performances on music shows and at major awards ceremonies have also been brilliant. With the title track of their Korean mini 1st EP, "Back to Life," &TEAM won first place on SBS M's The Show, MBC M's Show! Champion, and KBS2's MUSIC BANK, achieving a music show triple crown in Korea. In Japan, they won the "Special International Music Award" at the Shinanda! Japan Record Awards and secured an appearance on NHK's Kohaku Uta Gassen, among other milestones, showcasing a powerful presence on emblematic stages in both countries.
