The public can now join the late national actor Lee Soon-jae on his final journey.
According to OSEN reporting on the 25th, from this evening a separate memorial space for general mourners will be set up at the KBS annex in Yeouido, Seoul. This decision was made because of the deceased's symbolism as an actor who represented KBS for decades and, above all, the special meaning that his final daesang was born on the KBS stage.

The late Lee Soon-jae received the lifetime first daesang after 68 years since his debut at the 2024 KBS Drama Awards broadcast in January this year. Playing the honorary detective who solves cases with the dog 'Sophie', he once again proved his unsurpassed presence.
But that stage was also the first time his weakened body was revealed to the public. Supported by juniors Kim Yong-gun and Choi Soo-jong as he took the stage, the deceased was handed the trophy personally by the KBS president, who said, "It is an honor to present this award." Lee Soon-jae, holding back tears, replied, "I have been indebted to and received a lot of help from viewers throughout my life. Thank you."

A special altar honoring the deceased will also be installed at the KBS viewers' plaza. It reflects the intent to "send off the deceased's life together with viewers," commemorating the life of someone who delivered laughter and emotion to the public through KBS drama, variety and cultural programs for decades.

The deceased's funeral ceremony will be held at 6:20 a.m. on the 27th, and the burial site is Eden Paradise in Icheon.
