Actor Jeong Bo-seok expressed deep condolences for the late Lee Soon-jae.
On the 25th, Jeong Bo-seok left a condolence message on his personal SNS saying, "Teacher, thank you so much for everything. I learned and felt a lot about acting, life, and the attitude of an actor." He expressed respect and sorrow, saying, "You are the true teacher of my life. Each step you took was the beginning and history of broadcast acting." He then offered a final farewell, saying, "I pray that you rest more peacefully where you are going."
Jeong Bo-seok received great love while acting as Lee Soon-jae's son-in-law in the MBC sitcom "High Kick Through the Roof" from 2009 to 2010.
Meanwhile, Lee Soon-jae passed away early that morning. He was 91.
Lee Soon-jae, who debuted in the 1956 play "Beyond the Horizon," was selected as a first-generation talent in KBS's open recruitment in 1960 and for more than 60 years crossed television, film and theater to write Korea's acting history as a "national actor" and a "national father."
He appeared in more than 140 notable works including "What Is Love," "The Men of the Bathhouse," "Heo Jun," "Yi San," "High Kick Through the Sky," and "High Kick Through the Roof." He also showcased a warm presence on the variety show "Grandpas Over Flowers," winning affection across generations.
He also continued political activity, being elected to the 14th National Assembly in 1992 and serving on cultural policy and as secretary-general of the Korea-Japan Parliamentary League.
Having suspended activities due to health issues since late last year, he bowed his head in a final farewell after winning the grand prize at the "2024 KBS Entertainment Awards" earlier this year, saying, "I received a lot of help throughout my life."
The funeral venue and other funeral procedures have not yet been decided.<
