In the released footage the husband was in a computer room with as many as three computer monitors and four mice, the so-called "secret room," immersed in investing. Staring at graphs for an hour, the husband loudly claimed he had completed his masterpiece system through 22 years of research. After suffering total losses from discretionary trading, he jumped into direct investing and devoted himself to research up to 20 hours a day. The husband said, "If by providence an opportunity comes, you must be prepared to seize that opportunity," showing that even after 22 years of failures he still had not let go of hope.
But the husband's investment addiction was at a serious level. Not only had he lost his entire severance pay, he secretly sold the wife-owned house that their sons had arranged and squandered the proceeds on investments, and he even misappropriated the deposit for a lease.
