Singer and actress Lee Hee-jin, formerly of Baby V.O.X, expressed deep condolences for veteran actor the late Lee Soon-jae, who passed away.
On the 25th, Lee Hee-jin posted two photos with the late Lee Soon-jae from his lifetime on her social media along with the words "The acting and words of the teacher I respected so much, who was like my father… The feelings the teacher gave me were so warm and I was grateful… Now, I pray sincerely that you rest in peace there."
In the released photos, taken in what appears to be a waiting room, Lee Hee-jin is shown warmly embracing the late actor with a bright smile. The affectionate atmosphere between the two reveals the warmth of trust and respect built over long years on set.
Lee Hee-jin had previously shown chemistry like that of a real father and daughter while acting alongside the late Lee Soon-jae in the play "The Grand Heirloom Shop."
Earlier that morning the late Lee Soon-jae passed away. He was 91. Despite his advanced age, the late Lee Soon-jae had continued working steadily and had been the subject of health concern rumors since last year. Nonetheless, he attended the 2024 KBS Drama Awards earlier this year, personally received the grand prize and delivered remarks, demonstrating his continued vigor.
As news of the late Lee Soon-jae's sudden passing spread, not only junior colleagues in the entertainment industry but the entire nation fell into deep sorrow and expressed condolences. The late Lee Soon-jae, who devoted his life to acting and mentoring younger performers and was a major pillar of Korea's theater and broadcasting world, was also respected by juniors for his warmth and character.
