Broadcaster Um Ji-yoon called "Um Ji-hoon" a "presence that gets on my nerves."
Singles released the photo shoot and interview with Um Ji-yoon in its December issue. In the released photos, Um Ji-yoon showcased new charms with a wide spectrum matching her character that shifts between her secondary persona and her main persona.
In the ensuing interview, Um Ji-yoon said the YouTube content "the handsome men's pojangmacha opening" drew great attention, calling it "the work that received the most immediate reaction recently" and saying, "I was proud of the strong response because I personally directed the overall character realization, including concept, costumes, hair and makeup." She also candidly said she "felt a little jealous" that interest focused on fellow creators Kubin and Heo Mi-jin, drawing laughs.
Especially about the popularity of the character "Um Ji-hoon," she said, "At first it was an atmosphere to enjoy lightly, but now a core fandom seems to have formed," and added, "I feel the influence of the growing number of fans who suggest directions in the comments." She went on to describe Um Ji-hoon as "a presence that strangely makes me concerned about him," revealing deep affection for the character.
Active across various platforms, Um Ji-yoon said about her activity standards, "I choose novelty over repeating the obvious," and emphasized, "Even if views drop, I don't want to repeat the same repertoire." She added, "I can't abandon content that viewers expect overnight, so I compromise to some extent," and said, "When I feel tired or the freshness fades, I try something new." She also said she still feels nervous on set but that "thanks to that trembling I can grow," showing an attitude that enjoys challenges.
At the end of the interview, Um Ji-yoon looked back on the year, saying, "I'm grateful to myself who has constantly pondered how to live more enjoyably."
