"Three Idiots in Kenya" producer Na Young-seok expressed his feelings about Kim Tae-ho PD having first introduced the Giraffe Hotel and the African safari Big Five tour.
Netflix held a press conference for the new variety show Three Idiots in Kenya (shortened as "Keganse") on the morning of the 25th at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan, Seoul. PD Na Young-seok and PD Kim Ye-seul, who directed the program, and cast members Lee Sugeun, Eun Ji-won, and Kyuhyun attended and spoke with domestic reporters about "Keganse".
"Three Idiots in Kenya" is a variety show depicting the chaotic African travelogue of the three reliable laugh makers Lee Sugeun, Eun Ji-won, and Kyuhyun. The vast nature of Kenya and the brothers' bumpy safari takeover trip, united as one, are expected to deliver fresh, raw laughter.
Keganse came about when Kyuhyun, in the past New Journey to the West spinoff Iceland Three Meals (shortened as "Aganse"), overcame astronomical odds and obtained the Giraffe Hotel in Kenya. The project, realized for the first time in six years since Aganse in 2019, naturally brought welcome excitement.
At the same time, in the interim not only Kim Tae-ho PD's program but also numerous YouTube contents had already revealed the Giraffe Hotel and the African safari Big Five tour, leaving some disappointment. In response, Na Young-seok PD said, "If you ask whether my heart hurt, my heart did hurt," drawing laughter.
Nevertheless, he added, "But not only PD Tae-ho, many creators on the YouTube platform have already visited safaris and the Giraffe Hotel. What we wanted to show as our strengths and differentiators was that even the same places can feel different when we go. I am confident that these three will show sufficiently different sides."
Three Idiots in Kenya premieres today (the 25th) on Netflix.
