"Three Idiots in Kenya' member Kyuhyun recoiled at the giraffe kiss teaser.
Netflix held a press conference for the new variety show 'Three Idiots in Kenya' (abbreviated 'Keganse') on the morning of the 25th at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan, Seoul. Present were producers PD Na Young-seok and PD Kim Ye-seul and cast members Lee Sugeun, Eun Ji-won, and Kyuhyun, who spoke with domestic reporters about 'Keganse'.
'Three Idiots in Kenya' is a variety show that depicts the slapstick African journey of the three trusted laugh makers Lee Sugeun, Eun Ji-won, and Kyuhyun. Kenya's vast wilderness and the brothers' chaotic safari takeover trip promise to deliver fresh, raw laughs.
In particular, in the teaser video released ahead of the full release, Kyuhyun's kiss with a giraffe became a major topic. Kyuhyun said, "That day we have a group chat, and Ji-won hyung normally isn't the type to talk that much. But he went crazy by himself. He was like, 'Cho Kyuhyun is crazy, what's that.' Why would he do that? I clicked that link and it was too disgusting to watch. I couldn't bear it," which sent the room into laughter.
He continued, "It was a fleeting moment, but because they applied slow motion, it made me look like I kissed that giraffe and felt it. The production team asked me, 'Can we post this?' They wouldn't post it without asking. I couldn't watch it twice," he said, shaking his head. Eun Ji-won chimed in, "That alone told the whole story. It was the best teaser of the year."
Producer Na Young-seok drew a line and added to the laughter, "I want to talk to Kyuhyun, but that teaser was done by PD Ye-seul; it has nothing to do with me. I didn't expect it to come out that slowly. Camera performance has improved a lot."
'Three Idiots in Kenya' will be released on Netflix today (the 25th).
