Lee Jae-wook and Choi Seong-eun finally confirmed their feelings for each other.
In the 8th episode of KBS 2TV's Saturday-Sunday miniseries Last Summer (directed by Min Yeon-hong / written by Jeon Yu-ri / produced by Monster Union, SlingShot Studio), which aired yesterday (23rd), Baek Do-ha (played by Lee Jae-wook) rushing straight toward Song Ha-gyeong (played by Choi Seong-eun) colored living rooms pink.
On that broadcast Do-ha said, "Let's be alone together. Tonight. All night," and led Ha-gyeong to the sea. Unable to resist Do-ha's persistent attitude, Ha-gyeong accompanied him, and the two had time there to open up to each other. Ha-gyeong, finding it hard to speak her true feelings sober, relied on the power of alcohol.
In the car on the way home Do-ha said, "I can't believe those words came from your mouth. If you had told me earlier it would have been easier for me to decide," a remark loaded with meaning. But Ha-gyeong, affected by the alcohol, had lost her memory and was frustrated because she didn't know what she had said.
Meanwhile, Seo Su-hyeok (Kim Gun-woo) was waiting for the two in front of the "Peanut House." Tension hung thickly among the three who met again, and Do-ha could only look on as Ha-gyeong followed Su-hyeok, adding to the poignancy.
The next day Do-ha told Su-hyeok he wanted to withdraw his retainer and declared he had no intention of playing fair about his relationship with Ha-gyeong, saying, "The mistake started when you hired a lawyer to drag out the summer," foreshadowing a full-blown love triangle.
Ha-gyeong tried to prompt Do-ha to recover her memory, and when that didn't work she brought out stronger liquor. In response, Do-ha proposed the "Song Ha-gyeong game," which involved saying the opposite of the truth, and used the game to honestly confess his true feelings. The scene in which a flustered Ha-gyeong covers Do-ha's mouth created a strange current that made viewers' hearts flutter.
Elsewhere, Su-hyeok invited Ha-gyeong to his home and treated her to dinner. He said he was no longer Do-ha's lawyer and moved straight to personal matters, asking, "Now that we can really meet privately, how do you feel about that?" Then to Ha-gyeong, who didn't remember what happened with Do-ha, Su-hyeok offered penetrating advice: "Song Ha-gyeong, please find that lost memory. If you follow that memory you'll see Ha-gyeong's heart."
At the end of the broadcast, Ha-gyeong, shocked to hear that Do-ha had been hurt, ran to the Peanut House in a single step. After confirming Do-ha's injury was minor and feeling relieved, Ha-gyeong was kissed by Do-ha, who could not hide his feelings for the woman who had rushed to him, delivering an explosive thrill.
Viewers who watched the broadcast reacted enthusiastically, saying, "The more I see Ha-gyeong the funnier and cuter she gets," "When Do-ha and Ha-gyeong played the 'Song Ha-gyeong game' my heart nearly exploded," "Mr. Seo the lawyer looks handsome with his hair down," "Do-ha only has Ha-gyeong on his mind," "Episode 8 of the promise has arrived. Finally a kiss ending. How do I wait for the next broadcast," "Why is Seo Su-hyeok acting so grown-up? He's cool," and "Looks like Do-ha's trauma will come up in the next episode. Exciting."
