'Dr. Oh Eun-young report: marriage hell' features the Bibang couple.
The MBC program Dr. Oh Eun-young Report: Marriage Hell (hereinafter "Marriage Hell"), which airs Monday, Nov. 24 at 9 p.m., will reveal the story of the "Bibang couple," whose husband has been trapped in a secret room for 22 years.
The 78-year-old same-age "Bibang couple," who grew up as neighborhood friends and later married, are now in their 54th year of marriage and reportedly lived happily without raising their voices. However, the wife sought out Dr. Oh Eun-young, saying her husband changed 180 degrees after retirement and her own hell began.
In the released observation footage, the husband enters a so-called "secret room," where the lights never go off 24 hours a day, and pursues his own private hobby. The wife complains she is exhausted because the lights are on in the husband's room even in the middle of the night. Before retirement, the husband was a diligent Director General at a large company, but after retirement he became a completely different person and has no intention of leaving the secret room. He even confessed, "I became so superstitious that I even changed my name," raising questions about what kind of change the husband underwent.
Eventually the wife went to the husband's room and issued a final ultimatum, "If you go in there one more time it's over." In response, the husband even called his son and urgently summoned him, saying, "Come right away."
