O Mi-seon (Kim Min-ha), who miraculously survived the warehouse fire, finally confessed her long-held feelings for Kang Tae-poong (Lee Junho) amid the terror of facing death. When trapped in the flames, what came to mind first were not her dreams or work but the things she hadn't said to her family. Regrets surged like waves: not being able to greet her grandmother Yeom Bun-yi (Kim Young-ok), not having told her younger brother O Mi-ho (Kwon Han-sol) earlier to quit the department store, and not having packed Oh Beom's (Kwon Eun-sung) underwear. Above all, her unspoken feelings for Tae-poong were etched deepest in her heart. So when she opened her eyes in the hospital and saw Tae-poong, she blurted out, "I like you, let's go out."
But the fire Mi-seon barely escaped was not a simple accident. By threatening Cha Seon-taek (Kim Jae-hwa) to learn the arrival date and storage location of the surgical gloves, Pyo Hyun-joon (Mu Jin-seong) deliberately set the fire. The warehouse blaze damaged the entire stock of surgical gloves, putting Typhoon Family in another life-or-death crisis. With only one week left until the delivery deadline, U.S. headquarters Eagles notified that production would be possible only after a three-month delay due to delayed material supply, and the Public Procurement Service refused the request to postpone delivery. If they gave up, the contract would automatically pass to the second-ranked Pyo Sang-seon. Failure to resolve this would mean bankruptcy.
Searching for substitute supplies to avoid bankruptcy, Tae-poong discovered an unexpected fact. Pyo Sang-seon, who had been confident of winning the bid, had already placed a bulk order of 3 million units with Eagles two weeks earlier. It was a volume that would be difficult to handle domestically within a year, and even Pyo Sang-seon felt the burden. Realizing this, Tae-poong immediately bowed low and earnestly begged Pyo Hyun-joon to sell the gloves. But he was met only with mockery and sneers.
On a night when every path seemed blocked, Tae-poong drank alone and for the first time felt the weight his father had carried. He agonized over having passed by his father when he was alone. Then, because of Seon-taek's suspicious actions, the case entered a new phase. The choice to accept money from Pyo Bak-ho (Kim Sang-ho) had been unavoidable because her husband's business was on the verge of collapse, and as a result the son was being threatened — pushing her to the limit. While rifling through the office, Seon-taek was caught by Tae-poong and ultimately revealed the existence of an IOU, leaving Tae-poong shocked by a truth he had never heard before. At the same time, complex emotions flitted through him between resentment toward Seon-taek for betraying his father and understanding her desperate circumstances to protect her son.
The next day, Tae-poong went to Pyo Bak-ho and demanded he sell the gloves. When Pyo Bak-ho sneered as if probing his financial power, Tae-poong turned the tables and rattled his psyche. Because he had precisely grasped Pyo Sang-seon's struggle to handle 3 million units of stock, he logically pressured him that refusing to sell the gloves would only let losses snowball. Then by mentioning the money 'taken' from his father, Tae-poong struck at Pyo Bak-ho's sensitive weakness, making his expression subtly waver. Using the IOU Seon-taek had revealed as a card, Tae-poong executed a meticulous bluff that probed what Pyo Bak-ho absolutely did not want to hear, as if he already had it in hand. It was a moment that showcased Tae-poong's solid momentum in regaining control even at the edge of a cliff.
The bluff worked, and Pyo Hyun-joon, learning that his father Pyo Bak-ho had handed the gloves to Tae-poong, could not contain his anger and rushed to the scene. In a tense moment when it seemed he might strike Tae-poong, an enraged Mi-seon appeared. Sensing that Pyo Hyun-joon was the arsonist behind the warehouse fire, Mi-seon delivered a fiery punch to his cheek, offering a thrilling catharsis.
