'Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant' Han Hye-jin expressed gratitude to her brother-in-law Kim Kang-woo.
On the 21st episode of KBS 2TV entertainment program 'Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant' (hereafter 'Fun-Staurant'), Kim Kang-woo completed "100 servings of sandwiches" for his youngest sister-in-law Han Hye-jin.
That day Kim Kang-woo spent a full 40 hours making 100 sandwiches and gifted a coffee truck. After tasting her brother-in-law's sandwich, Han Hye-jin said, "It tastes like a really nutty chestnut flavor."
When the production staff called it "seoritae cream cheese," Han Hye-jin was surprised and praised it, saying, "You could go into business with this."
When told he had paid more attention to this dish than any other, Han Hye-jin said, "You don't even need to see it to know. When my brother has a shoot, he doesn't eat chives, green onions, or garlic (out of consideration for his co-stars). He has to be able to speak," and added, "So I realized by watching my brother-in-law that I couldn't do that, and after that I became very careful. So that's why there was no onion," she marveled.
The production staff asked, "What does Kim Kang-woo mean to Han Hye-jin?" Han Hye-jin said, "My brother-in-law is a very lighthearted person. He takes care of all three of us sisters and looks after our husbands and my second sister's husband as well. Even at our mother's house when we spend holidays, he does not hesitate to do the hard work. He's like a proper eldest son-in-law," she said affectionately.
She added, "When he was filming the drama 'The Substitute Husband Ojakdu,' there was my father's grave near the filming location. My brother-in-law really stopped by often like a son to tend it and change the flowers. That moved us. We often can't go, but he told us many times that he was actually better than us at that," expressing her gratitude.
She went on, "Actually, for a male actor he married relatively early, but he really only cares about his family and lives for them, and as a sister-in-law, that is something I really respect," she added.
Finally, Han Hye-jin told Kim Kang-woo, "Thank you for always taking good care of our family and being considerate. And I think you've become brighter since doing 'Fun-Staurant,' and I love seeing that. I hope you keep doing it," but also advised with a laugh, "You need to let go more. That's what variety shows are. Show more."
Seeing this, Kim Kang-woo joked, "Thank you. I understand, senior."
