Comedian Shin Bong-seon and Yoo Min-sang clarified reports calling them the "26th comedian couple."
On the 21st, a video titled [Exclusive] Shin Bong-seon♥Yoo Min-sang couple? We explain. We'll reveal everything. (ft. senior Kim Dae-hee) was uploaded to the "ㄴ신봉선ㄱ" channel.
That day Shin Bong-seon appeared alongside Yoo Min-sang in front of the camera, drawing attention. Earlier Shin Bong-seon had uploaded a comedy version of "I am SOLO" content to her channel with the title Is comedian couple No. 26 born today?!!! At that time Yoo Min-sang–Shin Bong-seon and Ryu Geun-ji–Han Yun-seo had become the final couples.
However, this was conducted in sketch format, and an actual couple had not formed. But as more people misunderstood, they directly issued a clarification. Shin Bong-seon said she received messages from senior Park Mi-seon since that morning and that senior Im Ha-ryong even called to congratulate her, and Yoo Min-sang said the article said the birth of the 26th comedian couple. He added that many media outlets wrote articles and joked that he would send a certificate of content and would not stand by idly, prompting laughter.
Shin Bong-seon protested, saying she was embarrassed that her senior insisted on clarifying so aggressively, asking who he thought he was, and Yoo Min-sang complained of harm, saying to explain the situation properly: I do radio live broadcasts starting Monday, and all the texts and chatrooms were in an uproar. How did this happen, congratulations. I can't go on receiving all sorts of slander and misunderstanding from people. My marriage prospects are being blocked.
Shin Bong-seon said everyone would know it was false and that they probably thought it was some kind of fake documentary, then asked why he had chosen her and asked for an explanation. Yoo Min-sang explained his reason for choosing Shin Bong-seon, saying it was about camaraderie and love for the country. He couldn't stand seeing their fellow comedian get zero votes.
Meanwhile, Shin Bong-seon called Kim Dae-hee, a senior from "Gag Concert," and suggested, "Shall we try a hidden camera?" Kim Dae-hee, who answered the phone, said, "I'm going somewhere with my wife," and Shin Bong-seon, worried his sister-in-law might hear, told him to listen anyway and asked if he had seen the article. She explained she had filmed "Pursuing Old Encounters" as a comedian edition of a blind date show.
Kim Dae-hee said he only saw the title asking if a couple had formed with Min-sang, and Shin Bong-seon said there was no detailed coverage and that was the fact, then told him just to listen because she felt she really had to tell him: I'm kind of having a not-quite-relationship with Min-sang oppa, she lied.
Hearing this, Kim Dae-hee responded positively, saying he liked it because both were people he liked and that it was fine, and he would keep it secret. Kim Dae-hee's wife, who was beside him, was surprised and asked, "Are the two getting married?" and actively supported them, saying, "Announce it quickly and get married quickly. Get married next month."
As things escalated, the two grew flustered, and finally Shin Bong-seon revealed the truth, saying, "We're filming a clarification YouTube with oppa right now; this call was to a senior," admitting it was false. Kim Dae-hee asked, "Is it a lie?" and his wife changed her tune, saying, "No wonder it seemed so mismatched," drawing laughter.
After the call, Shin Bong-seon awkwardly said she had shamelessly been going out even though dating rumors never came up despite meeting oppa and drinking at night, and that the video had reached 410,000 views. Yoo Min-sang asked what she would say, noting that comments would demand answers and that 100% would say "just date" or "go out together," and asked what she would say. Shin Bong-seon asked back, "Do you want me to date oppa?"
Yoo Min-sang snapped, telling her not to leave any hints like that and to tell people clearly. Shin Bong-seon explained they had been extremely close for more than 20 years, calling Min-sang oppa an indispensable fellow comedian senior, and saying he finished his schedule early today, came out to help her at the company, waited, and she was very grateful. She reiterated they were truly close colleagues.
Yoo Min-sang warned to be careful with comments and thanked viewers for enjoying the content, suggesting that if they received more support they might make a second episode. Shin Bong-seon asked if he wanted to go on a date, and Yoo Min-sang replied not that but another solo blind date type. Shin Bong-seon lamented there were no suitable people and said she would never do it again because scheduling eight people was too hard. Yoo Min-sang said they should just do it with two people; two cameras, one on each side, would be enough.
Shin Bong-seon asked if he wanted to do it with her since two couples had already appeared, and Yoo Min-sang shouted that he wanted someone else to do it and asked whether Bong-seon had to be at the center. Shin Bong-seon candidly said she wasn't interested in other people's matters, and the two ended by shouting "dong-gi-sarang! nara-sarang!" adding to the laughter.
