'Taxi Driver 3' Pyo Ye-jin once again teased a legend.
The first broadcast on the 21st of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Taxi Driver 3' (written by Oh Sang-ho / directed by Kang Bo-seung) kicked off in earnest with a peak rating of 11.1%. 'Taxi Driver 3' is a private revenge agency drama in which the taxi company Rainbow Transportation, shrouded in mystery, and taxi driver Kim Do-gi (Lee Je-hoon) complete revenge on behalf of wronged victims. With its exhilarating catharsis, it has repeatedly succeeded at the box office each season and has established itself as a representative seasonal drama, drawing the attention of countless viewers from the moment news of season 3 was announced.
Pyo Ye-jin, who plays Rainbow Transportation's genius hacker 'Go Eun', delivered thrills from episode 1 as expected. As the Rainbow five head to Japan to rescue high school student Yoon Yi-seo (Cha Si-yeon), who was kidnapped by a Japanese crime organization, the show clearly demonstrated Taxi Driver's true value through a cheerful yet thrilling infiltration operation.
After discovering an illegal organization that lures minors into mobile phone games, indebts them with predatory loan contracts, and arranges suspicious jobs in Japan, Go Eun decides to become their bait herself. Disguising her identity, Go Eun approaches loan sharks, boards a ship bound for Japan and effectively plays the role of guide. Taken to an office marked "life reset," Go Eun was cut off and worried when a signal jammer blocked communication, but the episode heightened interest by showing that Do-gi had already subdued the opponents by force when he arrived at the scene. With the existence of a huge crime organization and numerous victims revealed and tension at its height, viewers are eager to see how they will finish their revenge.
Back after two years, Pyo Ye-jin once again showcased her sharpened presence. She transformed her image with a bold bob haircut, raising expectations, and by adding color to Taxi Driver she enhanced the drama's completion simply by being there. From lovable moments to charisma exploding in anger, she vividly colored 'Taxi Driver 3' with diverse expressions. In particular, Pyo Ye-jin's seasoned performance shone as she effortlessly shifted between acting innocently to approach loan sharks and professionally conveying needed information across numerous monitors, drawing viewers into the story. Her passionate acting, portraying Go Eun's deeper sense of responsibility from episode 1 with lines like "Leave it to me this time. I have a way," firmly marked the start of a legend.
Meanwhile, Pyo Ye-jin won the season drama excellence acting award at the 2023 SBS Drama Awards for 'Taxi Driver 2'. Given that she was already recognized for both popularity and acting ability, there was no doubt about her performance in 'Taxi Driver 3'. From episode 1 she naturally met those expectations and greatly delighted viewers. Attention is focused on the thrills Pyo Ye-jin will deliver as an even more upgraded Go Eun.
