Actress Oh Yoon-ah candidly shared cultural differences she felt while traveling in the United States.
On the 21st, a video released on the YouTube channel "Oh! Yoon-ah" showed Oh Yoon-ah and her son Min enjoying a trip between Los Angeles and Chicago.
At a famous restaurant in Chicago, Oh Yoon-ah first mentioned Min's recent condition. She said, "He looks the same on the outside, but he's lost a little weight. His stomach has gone in," and added, "He surprisingly doesn't eat that much, and because he walks around a lot, he naturally lost weight."
She went on to talk about the "difference in atmosphere" she felt while staying in the U.S. When a companion said, "People here don't find it strange at all for a child like this to walk around," Oh Yoon-ah strongly agreed and added, "Americans don't say anything even when Min walks around. There's no restraint… Maybe because of that, the child looked much more comfortable."
In particular, Oh Yoon-ah said she was impressed by how cheerful people with developmental disabilities she met locally appeared. She said, "Because there are fewer signs telling people not to do things, they seem much more relaxed and comfortable," expressing surprise at the atmosphere different from Korea.
Meanwhile, Oh Yoon-ah married in 2007 and welcomed her son Min, and after divorcing in 2015 she has continued raising him alone.
She revealed that Min has a developmental disability and received much support, and she continues to share her parenting life and thoughts through broadcasting and YouTube activities.
