At 9:20 p.m. on the 22nd, KBS2's weekend miniseries Last Summer (written by Jeon Yu-ri, directed by Min Yeon-hong, produced by Monster Union and Slingshot Studio) episode 7 sees Baek Do-ha (Lee Jae-wook) receive unexpected news about Song Ha-kyung (Choi Sung-eun).
Earlier, Do-ha and Jeon Nam-jin (Ahn Chang-hwan) clashed over the real reason Nam-jin withdrew from a public project and over Do-ha's decision to give up an important job in the United States and return home. Do-ha tried to open up to Ha-kyung about his feelings, but was shocked when Ha-kyung confessed that she had already decided to date Seo Su-hyuk (Kim Gun-woo).
In stills released ahead of episode 7, Ha-kyung is seen in a hospital gown facing Do-ha, prompting viewers' concern. Also, Ha-kyung's junior Kim Da-ye (Chae Dan-bi) stands by her side with a worried expression, raising curiosity about what might have happened.
What attracts attention most is Do-ha's reaction as he rushes to the hospital. As soon as he hears that Ha-kyung has been admitted, he arrives without pausing to catch his breath and stares at her with a serious expression. Through his glasses, his sharp, hardened expression reveals deep worry and anxiety beyond that of a friend.
Meanwhile, a tense atmosphere hangs between the two as they stand facing each other on the hospital roof. Do-ha expresses concern about Ha-kyung's condition and voice his hurt, but Ha-kyung, the person involved, maintains a calm expression as if unfazed.
Especially when Do-ha's intense emotions surface without his realizing it, Ha-kyung coldly draws a line, saying, "Don't overdo it." With Do-ha thrown into confusion by the news of Ha-kyung and Su-hyuk dating, attention turns to what emotional clashes the two will experience following this hospitalization incident.
The Last Summer production team said, "Ha-kyung's sudden hospitalization will be an event that cracks Do-ha's formerly steady reason," and added, "Please pay attention to how the precarious tension between a worried Do-ha and a Ha-kyung who tries to push him away will be portrayed in today's broadcast."
