Following HyunA's recent collapse on stage during a Macau performance, TWICE member Chaeyoung has been reported to have been diagnosed with vasovagal syncope, raising growing concern.
On the 20th, TWICE's agency JYP Entertainment said in a notice, "Chaeyoung was recently diagnosed with vasovagal syncope, and based on consultations with medical specialists and thorough examinations, while she had been resting, it was concluded that an additional recovery period is necessary. Therefore, after lengthy discussions, Chaeyoung has decided to suspend activities for the time being and focus on treatment, rest and sufficient recuperation."
The agency said, "Currently Chaeyoung aims to take sufficient rest and recover her condition through the end of the year, and based on the judgment that her health must be the top priority, she will participate minimally in future scheduled events or will inevitably be absent."
Accordingly, Chaeyoung will not participate in the scheduled world tour dates in Kaohsiung, Hong Kong and Bangkok. The agency said, "We convey that Chaeyoung herself feels deep regret. She also once again expressed her apologies to fans for being unable to participate in fan events and the world tour since late October."
Before Chaeyoung, on the 9th singer HyunA suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed while performing the "Bubble Pop" stage at the outdoor venue in Macau during "Waterbomb 2025 Macau."
After HyunA collapsed on stage, dancers rushed to her in shock, and hurried security personnel who went on stage carried HyunA off, a scene captured on video that shocked viewers.
Afterward, HyunA said on her social media, "I am really, really sorry.. It was a short time since the previous performance but I wanted to show a good side; I feel like I didn't act professionally, and actually I don't remember anything, so I've kept thinking about it and I wanted to make sure to tell you."
She added, "Many Macau fans came, and everyone, including overseas fans, paid to see the performance, so I am sorry and truly sorry," and "From now on I'll build up my stamina more and keep working hard. If everything goes my way that would be great, but I'll do my best." In particular, HyunA reassured fans about her condition, saying, "I'm really fine. Don't worry about me!"
HyunA reassured fans that she was healthy, but she had recently revealed that she lost more than 10 kilograms, going from 59kg to 49kg, leading many to believe that excessive dieting was the cause of her collapse on stage.
Moreover, news that TWICE member Chaeyoung, also known for being slim among idol members, was diagnosed with vasovagal syncope and needs rest has further increased fans' worries.<
