Singer Seong Si-kyung, after experiencing financial betrayal by a former manager who had worked with him for more than 10 years, opened up about his deep feelings for the first time. At the same time, he personally announced his return to YouTube after two weeks and the holding of a year-end concert to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his debut, firmly expressing his determination to "keep his promise to fans."
In the YouTube video 'Seong Si-kyung will eat' released on the 21st, Seong Si-kyung appeared thinner than usual, drawing attention. After ordering food and pouring a beer, he spoke cautiously. He confessed, "Since the article must have come out... at first it was really hard."
Seong Si-kyung revealed for the first time the wounds he felt after suffering financial damage from a former manager he had trusted and relied on for a long time. However, he confessed that he was able to endure thanks to fans who were still waiting for him, saying, "The reason I continued this channel was because of my promise to loyal listeners."
In the video on the 10th, when he returned after about a two-week break, Seong Si-kyung introduced a new editing staff and showed a bright smile. Gathering courage, he said, "I rested for a while, but I will try to do well again." His voice reflected a brief gap and emotional hardship, but his characteristic warmth remained. Earlier, Seong Si-kyung's agency had revealed that the former manager embezzled some VIP tickets to resell them and moved revenue to an account in his wife's name, committing irregularities amounting to hundreds of millions of won. Seong Si-kyung had also conveyed emotional distress on social media, saying, "Being betrayed by someone I trusted is hard to endure."
But even amid the wounds, Seong Si-kyung ultimately chose music. He announced that he will hold a 25th anniversary year-end concert at Seoul Olympic Park KSPO DOME from Dec. 25 to 28. He said, "I will repay the fans who believed in and waited for me over the past year with the best stage." Fans continued their support, saying, "He is a singer who sublimates pain into art," "I will definitely go this winter," and "As expected... year-end is Seong ballad."
Ticket reservations were held through NOL Ticket at 8 p.m. on Nov. 19 and sold out at lightning speed. Seong Si-kyung is set to return to fans this winter with a stage that will shine the warmest.
