Singer Sung Si-kyung shed tears while listening to junior Kyuhyun's new song.
On the 21st Kyuhyun released content titled "Did someone steal Kyuhyun's channel? A 'The Classic' listening party with Sung Si-kyung / Sung Si-kyung will steal it" on his YouTube channel 'KYUHYUN'.
In the video, Kyuhyun and Sung Si-kyung listened together to tracks from Kyuhyun's new album 'KYUHYUN The Classic', released on Nov. 20. Sung Si-kyung, who had been concentrating in a quiet atmosphere, blushed and exclaimed, "Ah, it's good, it's so good," while listening to the third song "Goodbye, My Friend."
Then as the intro to the fourth song "Living in memory" played, Sung Si-kyung sighed as if conflicted, took off his glasses and cried silently while listening to the song. Kyuhyun quietly watched him and remained silent.
After listening to all the way through the final song "Compass," Sung Si-kyung explained the reason he burst into tears, saying, "Sorry, I think I was a bit upset. The songs were so good. I was so upset at myself for judging whether this would 'succeed or not.' It's not that kind of era anymore."
Kyuhyun responded cheerfully, "Ah, but I thought you were joking. You're crying," and Sung Si-kyung smiled awkwardly, saying, "Your music was so beautiful."
Sung Si-kyung added, "There was a time when ballads were really the main genre. I felt, my junior whom I love so much did something so beautifully? It was that feeling. I was so grateful and deeply moved that someone would sing so precious in a world where ballad is not major. I think that overlapped with my situation."
Internet users in the comments offered support with reactions such as, "Si-kyung holding back tears ㅠㅠ I cried too ㅠㅠ", "My heart hurts and I'm so upset thinking how hard it must have been..", and "The relationship between the two looks so solid and good. I'll always support you."
Meanwhile, Sung Si-kyung recently parted ways with his former manager of about 10 years over financial issues. The former manager is reported to have committed fraud amounting to several hundred million won by secretly diverting some VIP tickets while handling performance-related duties and transferring the proceeds from resale to his wife's account.
On the 21st, Sung Si-kyung also opened up about his feelings regarding the former manager's embezzlement case, saying "It was really hard," in a video titled "Sung Si-kyung's eating.../Myeong-dong Haenghwachon" released on his YouTube channel 'SUNG SI KYUNG'. <
