'Problem Child in House' actor Yoo Jun-sang could not hide his pride about his sons.
On the 20th episode of KBS2TV variety show 'Problem Child in House', Yoo Jun-sang and Jung Moon-sung, the leads of the musical "Behind the Moon", appeared. The musical is a one-person play, with one actor in multiple roles.
Yoo Jun-sang said, "The Neil Armstrong we know landed on the moon, but the second person to land is forgotten. That person is Buzz Aldrin, and that's the Buzz character from Toy Story. People don't recognize him; he's a grumbling character," and explained the play, "Michael Collins dropped those two people off and orbited the moon. When he orbited the moon it took two hours, and of that, 40 minutes were spent on the far side of the moon. Michael Collins was the first in human history, and alone, to orbit the far side of the moon for 40 minutes. This is the story of Michael Collins."
Then Jung Moon-sung mentioned his first impression of Yoo Jun-sang. Jung Moon-sung said, "Usually when we first meet we greet, do the first reading, and then go eat, but Yoo Jun-sang came having memorized all the lines and songs from the first meeting," and Song Eun-i said, "Yoo Jun-sang is famous. When he worked with Jung Sang-hoon, Yoo Jun-sang had memorized everything too. He works hard himself, and they said they were really surprised," mentioning Yoo Jun-sang's meticulous character.
Also, Hong Jin Kyung said, "I'm a schoolmate of Yoo Jun-sang. As a senior, he visited professors often and I heard a lot about it," and said, "They said Yoo Jun-sang visited professors so often and still pays his respects. I've heard so much that I feel an inner closeness." Song Eun-i said, "Hong Jin Kyung usually doesn't say things like this," expressing surprise at Yoo Jun-sang's character.
Yoo Jun-sang married Hong Eun-hee and they have two sons. Yoo Jun-sang said, "When the kids were young we took them to museums so often but they hated the museums. We tried to give them nature education like hiking, but now they refuse to hike. My sons said, 'Dad, we've done enough,'" conveying his older sons' reactions.
He said, "Fortunately, Hong Eun-hee and I share the same views on education, so we didn't force them to study. But I regret that now. The kids are really happy. But the parents are stressed. Behind that is our patience," and added, "When they were young, the younger one said he didn't like hagwons. He said his friends go to hagwons and sleep there, so he felt like he would sleep too and decided not to attend. It made sense, so we let him not go."
Yoo Jun-sang said his older son is interested in the entertainment industry. Yoo Jun-sang said, "The eldest has a pretty face and a good voice. He has talent. The younger one is musically interested in things like guitar. He plays old metal songs on the guitar," he said. Song Eun-i asked, "Is the eldest interested in this?" and Yoo Jun-sang said, "He is interested. He also has talent," and added, "Looking at our kids, the eldest resembles his mother, the younger resembles his father," prompting curiosity about the eldest son's looks.
