Actor Park Si-hoo's side disclosed the status of legal action regarding allegations of arranging an affair.
On the 21st, Park Si-hoo's legal representative, the law firm Hyemyeong, said, "Park Si-hoo filed a complaint in August against the suspect who wrote and distributed malicious false posts on his social media for violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation) and other charges, and a related investigation is currently under way," adding, "the suspect's claim that 'actor Park Si-hoo introduced a woman to a married man and was involved in the breakdown of a family' is clearly false and groundless."
Park Si-hoo's side said, "This case began when the suspect entered her divorced ex-husband's home, stole his mobile phone, and maliciously edited and distorted various conversations and photo files stored in it and posted them on social media," adding, "in relation to this, the suspect's ex-husband also filed a complaint against the suspect, and recently the police recognized the charges of violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation) and other charges alleged by the ex-husband and forwarded the case to the prosecution."
They continued, "The investigative agency confirmed that the suspect's posts were false or distorted," and emphasized, "because the posts about the ex-husband and actor Park Si-hoo are based on the same context and materials, it is clear that if the ex-husband's case was found to have merit, the case filed by actor Park Si-hoo will also be found to have merit."
Park Si-hoo's side said, "We will respond firmly without any leniency or settlement to groundless rumors and malicious slander that seriously damage Park Si-hoo's honor," adding, "we once again emphasize that we will pursue and hold accountable to the fullest legal extent those who create and spread fake news and false information indiscriminately online."
Allegations that Park Si-hoo arranged an affair surfaced in August. At the time, influencer A posted on his social media, "Kwageol Si-hoo. When our family lived in UN Village, since 2020 I have been calling 'sister-in-law, sister-in-law' and 황 introduced a woman to me," and released parts of messages presumed to have been exchanged between Park Si-hoo and her husband.
In response, Park Si-hoo's side said it clearly denied that the facts posted in the article claiming that 'actor Park Si-hoo introduced a woman to a married man and played a large role in the breakdown of a family' were groundless falsehoods and said it would take prompt measures related to this, signaling a hard-line response.
Meanwhile, Park Si-hoo will return to the big screen in about 10 years with the new film 'Sinui Akdan' on Dec. 31.
