Actor Joo Sang-wook will have a fierce confrontation with So Ji-sub.
HB Entertainment, Joo Sang-wook's agency, said today (20th) that Joo Sang-wook will appear as Joo Kang-chan in SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama Kim Bu-jang, scheduled to air in 2026.
'Kim Bu-jang' (written by Nam Dae-jung, directed by Lee Seung-young and Lee So-eun, planned by Studio S, produced by Studio S, Fantagio) is a drama about an ordinary family man and small-time citizen, Kim Bu-jang, who exposes a secret of his that must never be revealed to find his beloved daughter and stakes everything to save her.
Joo Sang-wook plays Joo Kang-chan, the coldly charismatic CEO of Joo Hak Construction. He is a prominent figure who rose from a contract thug to the head of a construction company, a character with a brutal streak who breaks through problems that money cannot solve with violence. In particular, a case involving his family puts him in an adversarial relationship with Kim Bu-jang (played by So Ji-sub) and is expected to carry the drama's tension.
So far, Joo Sang-wook has steadily embodied intellectual yet sophisticated characters in numerous works such as True To Love, Harmony: The Merger, and Taejong Yi Bang-won, earning recognition for his reliable acting. In SBS's Buried Hearts, which ended in April, he played the enigmatic Yeo Sun-ho and left a strong impression as a character who, despite a brief appearance, unlocked an important clue in the plot.
In this new Kim Bu-jang, he will transform into a ruthless villain completely different by 180 degrees, delivering a fresh shock. Curiosity is already rising about his acting transformation that will show a completely new face.
Meanwhile, Kim Bu-jang, in which Joo Sang-wook has confirmed his appearance, will premiere in 2026.
