Actor Ahn Bo-hyun held the trophy for best new actor at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards.
On the 19th at 8:30 p.m. at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul, during the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards, Ahn Bo-hyun was honored with the best new actor award for the film "Pretty Crazy." "Pretty Crazy" is a devil-possessed comedy that portrays the struggles of unemployed Gil-gu (Ahn Bo-hyun), who gets caught up in an outrageous part-time job watching Seon-ji (Im Yoon-a), who wakes up as a devil every dawn.
Ahn Bo-hyun vividly portrayed the Gil-gu character, from an irresistibly protective "puppy-like charm" to a steadfast masculinity determined to protect the one he loves. Shedding his previously stamped intense image, he perfectly melted into the awkward but warmer-than-anyone next-door young man, showing a surprising acting transformation. In particular, because of his shy personality he is always withdrawn, but by embracing the secret pain of the "devil Seon-ji" and gradually growing stronger, Gil-gu's narrative was drawn with delicate emotional lines, proving the actor's wide spectrum, critics said.
On the award stage, Ahn Bo-hyun opened his remarks with a choked expression, saying, "I really didn't expect this. Just attending had great meaning, and I'm thankful once again." He added, "I was happy to be able to play Gil-gu in 'Pretty Crazy,'" and expressed affectionate feelings toward actress Im Yoon-a, Sung Dong-il, Joo Hyun-young, the actors who shared hardships with him, all the staff, and director Lee Sang-geun, who led the project.
Finally, he showed moist eyes as he expressed gratitude to his family, and added a heartfelt pledge that moved viewers, saying, "There are many people I am grateful to. I understand this award as a sign to not lose my original intention and to work harder, and I will remain Ahn Bo-hyun, an actor who does not lose his original intention."
Having firmly established his presence on screen through the film "Pretty Crazy" and winning the best new actor award at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards, Ahn Bo-hyun continues his rising trajectory. Through the new tvN drama "Spring Fever," scheduled to premiere in early 2026, he is set to return to home screens with a hot-pink comic romance, promising another acting transformation. Expectations are growing for Ahn Bo-hyun's next activities as he steadily builds his filmography across both the screen and the small screen.
