The group Stray Kids is setting a new record on Spotify and brightly signaled a comeback.
Stray Kids' SKZ IT TAPE (SKZ IT TAPE) 'DO IT', to be released on the 21st, achieved 1 million plays on Spotify Countdown, an indicator on the world's largest global music streaming platform Spotify that shows user interest based on pre-save numbers before an album's release.
This is the first K-pop album to do so and the third record overall after Taylor Swift's 'The Life of a Showgirl' and Tame Impala's 'Deadbeat', reflecting the intense global interest of fans toward Stray Kids.
In addition, the new release held the top spot for three consecutive weeks on the 'Countdown Chart Global Top 10', which ranks users' pre-saves on Spotify over a week. After reaching No. 1 on the Nov. 5 chart as the "first K-pop album" achievement, it remained at the top through the Nov. 19 chart, maximizing its pre-release momentum.
SKZ IT TAPE is an album in which Stray Kids unfolds the hottest and most definitive mood they want to show through music, and 'DO IT' is the first work that ambitiously announces that beginning. The new release includes a total of five tracks, including double title tracks 'Do It' and 'Sinsennolgeum', 'Holiday', 'Photobook', and 'Do It (Festival Version)', and once again all tracks were worked on by 3RACHA's Bang Chan, Changbin and Han.
The new album SKZ IT TAPE 'DO IT', which will turn global fans' expectations into satisfaction, will be officially released on the 21st at 2 p.m. (midnight U.S. eastern time).
