SBS new Fri-Sat drama 'Taxi Driver 3' 'Goddogi' Lee Je-hoon is set to deliver all-weather performances that will capture both the end and start of the year.
The new SBS Fri-Sat drama 'Taxi Driver 3', which premieres on the 21st (written by Oh Sang-ho, directed by Kang Bo-seung), is a series based on the webtoon of the same name, a private revenge-for-hire drama in which the taxi company Rainbow Transportation, shrouded in mystery, and taxi driver Kim Do-gi complete revenge on behalf of wronged victims. Since the previous season ranked fifth overall (21%) among domestic terrestrial and cable dramas aired after 2023, standing out as a successful example of a Korean-style serialized drama, viewers' expectations are rising for the return of the proven mega IP 'Taxi Driver'.
Above all, attention is focused on the third sortie of 'Goddogi' Lee Je-hoon, who sparked the K-dark hero craze. Previously, Lee Je-hoon played Kim Do-gi, the chief driver of Rainbow Transportation and an unprecedented taxi hero who hunts villains, showcasing everything from explosive bare-handed combat to thrilling car action, heralding the birth of a new 'action hotspot.' In particular, Lee Je-hoon's effortless acting, which unfolded a variety of sub-character plays such as 'Outcast Do-gi,' 'Farmer Do-gi,' and 'Mage Do-gi,' further enhanced the drama's three-dimensional entertainment. Regarding this, Oh Sang-ho, the father of the 'Taxi Driver' universe, said in a previous interview, "Lee Je-hoon's acting made anything thrown at him possible. He was a great support while working on season 3," expressing special affection.
Meanwhile, Lee Je-hoon's theatrical display of acting in the returning 'Taxi Driver 3' is raising expectations. In the previously released highlight video, Lee Je-hoon's more dynamic action, appearing in his trademark bomber jacket, raised the heart rates of viewers who have been waiting for season 3. Moreover, this season also introduces sub-characters that change faces every episode, such as 'Rogue Do-gi' and 'Doormat Do-gi,' amplifying anticipation for Lee Je-hoon's all-weather charm as he crosses genres with comedy, action and sub-character play.
At the production presentation, Lee Je-hoon emphasized, "I approached this season thinking I would pour everything into it. I hope Kim Do-gi can solidify his position as a singular dark hero," and hinted, "Especially in episodes 1 and 2 I poured everything I had into the sub-characters. In episodes 3 and 4 a cute and lovable character appears, a character I am personally very attached to. Various characters appear in other episodes as well, and I want to show them soon," raising intense interest in the premiere of 'Taxi Driver 3' to see what legendary performances Lee Je-hoon, as Kim Do-gi, will renew.
