The crossover group LA POEM delivered an emotional performance on the state-level event stage commemorating cultural exchange between Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
LA POEM was invited to perform on the 18th (local time) at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, for the Korea-UAE cultural exchange event "Culture, connecting the UAE and Korea."
As the first Korean performance held at the UAE presidential palace, about 300 people attended the event, including President Lee Jae-myung and his wife, leading figures from politics and business, cultural artists and fans of the Korean wave.
That day LA POEM performed two K-drama OSTs that have also been very popular in the Middle East. They performed the "Descendants of the Sun" OST "You Are My Everything" and "Morning's Land," the OST for Bon Appétit, Your Majesty in which LA POEM participated vocally, raising the energy of the performance.
In particular, LA POEM overwhelmed the audience with the rich harmonies and dramatic vocals characteristic of crossover. The stage, which harmoniously captured the depth of classical music and the sensibility of popular music, powerfully conveyed the resonance of Korean drama OSTs.
At the ending stage LA POEM closed the performance by presenting "Ode to Joy" together with soprano Jo Su-mi. Jo Su-mi's powerful vocals combined with LA POEM's rich harmony drew enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Through this performance LA POEM once again proved its status as a K-crossover vocal group, solidifying its presence as an artist representing Korean music at an event symbolizing cultural exchange between Korea and the UAE.
LA POEM will hold solo concerts "LA POEM SYMPHONY In Love" at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts' Grand Theater in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the 29th and 30th. The concerts will be performed in collaboration with the KBS Symphony Orchestra, offering a chance to experience another musical world of LA POEM.
