Actress Go Won-hee drew viewers in with a riveting performance.
On Oct. 18, the TV CHOSUN Monday-Tuesday miniseries "No Next Life" featured Song Ye-na (played by Go Won-hee) who remained consistently wary of Jo Na-jung (Kim Hee-seon). Earlier, Song Ye-na had shown discomfort at Jo Na-jung's return.
Amid this, when Song Ye-na became Jo Na-jung's mentor, she showed aversion to Seo Kyung-seon (played by Kim Young-a). However, once control over Jo Na-jung was given to her, she expressed an unusual determination, deepening curiosity about the narrative entwining the two.
Also, contrary to her earlier negative assessment of Jo Na-jung's ideas, Song Ye-na surprised everyone with an unexpected action: she personally proposed as a new item the opinion Jo Na-jung had previously mentioned to Seo Kyung-seon.
Meanwhile, while heading to the orchard for an apology broadcast, Song Ye-na encountered an unforeseen situation. After a series of complications she was hospitalized, and when Jo Na-jung ultimately took her place, Song Ye-na revealed an unbearable sense of inferiority, increasing anticipation about how the two will relate going forward.
In this way, Go Won-hee convincingly infused Song Ye-na's unstable inner life into the character, giving her three-dimensionality. In particular, in the scene watching Jo Na-jung's broadcast, her wide-eyed stare and reddening face embodied the character's complex emotions, prompting viewers to naturally empathize.
Additionally, the tense and urgent aspects of Song Ye-na fleeing punishment in the orchard were portrayed vividly, delivering both tension and entertainment. Go Won-hee's performance, which did not shy away from appearing disheveled, completed the drama more dramatically and asserted an irreplaceable presence.
Meanwhile, "No Next Life" airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m.
