HYBE and Geffen Records' global girl group KATSEYE has once again broken its own highest rankings on major U.S. Billboard charts.
According to the latest chart released by Billboard on the 19th (Korean time) (Nov. 22 issue), KATSEYE's second EP 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' track 'Gabriela' landed at No. 31 on the main song chart Hot 100. It rose two spots from last week and marks its 17th week on the chart.
KATSEYE's upward momentum is also notable on the Pop Airplay chart, which is based on radio airplay metrics. 'Gabriela' rose to No. 13 this week, setting another personal best. Strong performance on this chart, one of the important indicators evaluating a song's popularity and mass appeal, proves that KATSEYE is widely loved in the United States.
KATSEYE's album is also still being loved. The EP 'BEAUTIFUL CHAOS' rose eight spots from the previous week to No. 35 on the main album chart Billboard 200, marking 20 consecutive weeks on the chart. It also climbed on Top Album Sales (No. 11) and Top Current Album Sales (No. 10), which tally physical album sales, achieving 20 consecutive weeks on the charts.
Notably, the first EP released in September, 'SIS (Soft Is Strong),' re-entered the sales charts this week. 'SIS (Soft Is Strong)' ranked No. 38 on Top Album Sales and No. 31 on Top Current Album Sales, marking 13 and 18 cumulative weeks on the charts, respectively.
On global charts that rank based on data aggregated from more than 200 countries and regions, KATSEYE's popularity trend is even more solid. 'Gabriela' rose to No. 22 on the Global 200 and No. 18 on the Global (excl. U.S.), continuing 21 consecutive weeks on each chart. 'Gnarly'—released as a pre-release single—remains locked on the charts for 28 consecutive weeks, ranking No. 147 on the Global 200 and No. 152 on the Global (excl. U.S.) despite being released more than six months ago.
Born under Bang Si-hyuk chairman's 'K-pop methodology,' KATSEYE debuted in the United States last June after going through HYBE America's systematic training and development (T&D) system. They achieved the feat of being nominated in two categories—Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance—at the 68th Grammy Awards to be held on Feb. 1 next year.
