Actor Hyun Bin won best actor at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards and mentioned his wife Son Ye-jin.
On the 19th at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards took place. This event was again hosted by actors Han Ji-min and Lee Je-hoon as co-masters of ceremonies.
Hyun Bin, who won best actor for the film "Harbin," said, "While making 'Harbin' I felt many things beyond the film. Living in Korea, and being able to be in this place, seems to be thanks to the countless people who devoted and sacrificed to protect Korea. I want to convey my gratitude for this award to those people. Thank you," he said, bowing deeply, which made the moment more moving.
He continued, "When I was first offered the role of director An Jung-geun in 'Harbin,' I could not imagine the pain and frustration of the people who lived then, nor the sense of responsibility to protect the country, so I did not think I could handle it. I initially declined the project, but director Woo Min-ho kept supporting me and held my hand until the end, saying we could make a meaningful film, and thanks to him I am standing here. And to Jung-min, Yeo-bin, and the excellent colleagues who are not here, and the staff in each part who shared this difficult journey with me, it was an honor. Without them, I think I could not have borne the weight," he said.
In particular, Hyun Bin said, "Even now, my family who silently supports me from behind, my company colleagues, the fans, and the audiences who loved 'Harbin,' I am so grateful," and toward Son Ye-jin seated in the audience he said, "My wife Yejin, you are such a source of strength just by existing; I want to say I love our son so, so much and I am grateful." At that moment, Son Ye-jin, captured by the camera, made a hand-heart, adding warmth to the scene.
Finally he added, "Lastly, I was happy to share with the audience the values we must protect and the history we must not forget through this film. Thank you."
