Actor Yeom Seung is set to make her first leading role in a feature film on the big screen through the movie "Underground Idol" (director Lee Soo-sung, produced by Refilm Co., provided by Studio Apex Co.).
The film "Underground Idol," which stars Yeom Seung of Inyeon Entertainment in her first leading role in a feature film, depicts the desperate, hard-fought survival of underground idols rather than glamorous No. 1 idols in an era when K-POP rules the world, and Yeom Seung plays the cross-dressing idol Seung-hyun.
Seung-hyun, played by Yeom Seung, is usually gentle and mild-mannered, but when she cross-dresses and takes the stage she becomes tough and intense. Yeom Seung will share chemistry with BZ – BOYS (Cheonggong Boys) members Choi Won-ho, Lee Ha-min, Jeong Dong-hwan, and Jeong Seung-hyun, adeptly moving between dual charms to bring vitality to the film.
She also portrays a character who dreams of debuting in a girl group but faces repeated rejections at auditions and despair; refusing to give up, she seeks a last chance and boldly cross-dresses to join a boy group, a shocking choice. Having built solid acting skills across theater stages and web dramas, Yeom Seung is expected to deliver a distinctive presence in this work.
Active across the screen, stage and television, Yeom Seung has built her filmography appearing in various works regardless of genre, including the play "Sheer Madness," the web drama "Gaduri Fish Restaurant," the drama Second Shot at Love, "Queenmaker" and the film "Seoul Ghost Stories."
Meanwhile, "Underground Idol" opens on the 20th.
