Actress Son Ye-jin received her second best actress award at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards and mentioned her husband Hyun Bin and her son WOOJIN.
On the 19th, the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards took place at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul. The ceremony was co-hosted again this year by actresses Han Ji-min and Lee Jay-hoon.
That day's best actress winner was Son Ye-jin, who won her first best actress award at the 29th Blue Dragon Film Awards for "A Wife Has Married," and this time claimed her second trophy for "No Other Choice." Son Ye-jin began, "I always prepared an acceptance speech whenever I was nominated. But this time I couldn't prepare. I felt the same way as senior Seong-min said, that he couldn't prepare, and I wondered if it was okay for me to accept this. Right now everything ahead of me is so dark."
Still, she continued smoothly, "First, I won my first best actress award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards when I was 27. At that time I said in my acceptance speech that living as a 27-year-old actress was difficult and that this award would give me strength. I'm now approaching my early 40s, and more than 10 years have passed, and you have given me an award. The Blue Dragon Film Awards—one could say the first dream I had while acting was to win their best actress award—and you made that happen," she said, expressing gratitude.
Especially after marrying Hyun Bin and giving birth to her son, Son Ye-jin returned after seven years since "The Last Princess" with "No Other Choice," and emphasized, "I made a film after seven years. When director Park Chan-wook asked me to do it I was so excited and happy. I also wondered whether I could do it well. Even though it wasn't that big a role, I'm grateful they prepared things well in advance. Watching senior Byung-hun's acting up close was a great stimulus."
She went on, "After getting married and becoming a child's mother, I feel many different emotions and that the way I view the world is changing. I want to be a good adult. Within that, I want to keep developing and remain a good actor by your side." She added, "I will share the joy of this award with the two men I love so much, Mr. Kim Tae-pyung and our baby Kim WOOJIN," which drew a smile from her husband Hyun Bin, who had earlier received the best actor award and gone down into the audience.
