Actor Kim Ji-hoon made a perfect transformation into a sweet gentleman in Nice to Not Meet You.
On the 17th (Mon) and 18th (Tue) at 8:50 p.m. aired tvN Monday-Tuesday drama Nice to Not Meet You (directed by Kim Ga-ram, written by Jeong Yeo-rang, planned and produced by Studio Dragon, Studio & New, Artist Company) episodes 5 and 6, Kim Ji-hoon played the charm of the Sports Eunseong newspaper president character Lee Jae-hyung to the fullest, scoring women's hearts with earnest moments as he directly pursues Wi Jeong-shin (Lim Ji-yeon).
That day Jae-hyung asked Jeong-shin, who was going to cover a baseball game, out on a date and began flirting in earnest. He said, "I want to do that. A person who decided to be a good person for no reason. If we happen to meet at the baseball stadium tomorrow, I would be really happy," revealing the charm of a man who does not hesitate in love without reserve. Kim Ji-hoon evoked everyone's heart fluttering by expressing sincere emotions sweetly yet naturally.
Jae-hyung also became entangled with Im Hyun-jun (Lee Jung-jae) and added interest to the plot. As a former baseball player, Jae-hyung helped Hyun-jun practice his ceremonial first pitch and built rapport. He also gently mediated the dispute between his mother Oh Mi-ran (Jeon Soo-kyung) and Hyun-jun's mother Seong Ae-sook (Na Young-hee), showing a warm side as a kind and polite person to everyone.
Meanwhile, at a meal with his ex-girlfriend Yoon Hwa-young (Seo Ji-hye), Jae-hyung recalled the past and drew a line in his emotions. He said firmly, "The man she loved was facing death, and the woman married after three months. I think there is no reason that could justify that," and in scenes where he wore a bitter smile, Kim Ji-hoon's characteristic deep gaze and restrained emotional acting shone.
Jae-hyung's heart-fluttering gaze toward Jeong-shin also shook viewers' hearts. Jae-hyung showed the essence of a 'manner man' by kindly caring for a drunk Jeong-shin at a farewell party. Later, on the way home as he was taking Jeong-shin home, a scene in which he answered Hyun-jun's phone for her served as the ending, heightening curiosity about the subtle changes in the relationship among the three.
In this way Kim Ji-hoon is demonstrating the archetype of a straightforward sweet man with a sweet smile and deep emotional expression. With reliable acting that deepens the character's density, he raised expectations for future developments. After the broadcast viewers reacted enthusiastically with comments such as "Kim Ji-hoon's gaze is guilty," "Kim Ji-hoon suits any character he takes on," "Jae-hyung's direct mode is so good," "He's so cool when Jae-hyung gets into his baseball stance," and "President Jae-hyung is the very definition of a manner man. The ending was thrilling."
