Miss Kim won a new victory on the 'Morning Yard' challenge dream stage.
On the morning of the 19th, Miss Kim challenged the revival round on KBS 1TV's 'Morning Yard - Challenge: Stage of Dreams.'
That day Miss Kim said, "As a child I used to sing all the time while waiting for my parents, who carried beehives and traveled from Haenam to Cheorwon. When my parents returned we worked on beekeeping together, but the bees stung my face so it was always swollen. Because of that I had no confidence in my appearance, and people often mocked me when they saw me singing, saying 'Does anyone and everyone sing?' and 'What kind of singer is on your face?'" as she opened up about the painful memories of her past.
She continued, "Seeing me get hurt, my parents were really worried. They even borrowed money from acquaintances to produce an album for me. But the path of an unknown singer was too harsh, and I eventually gave up singing, graduated from an agricultural college, and returned to Haenam to help with my parents' farming," she explained.
However, wanting to sing so badly, Miss Kim took on 'National Singing Contest' as a last chance and won the excellence prize. After that Miss Kim moved to Seoul to continue her challenge as a singer, and finally received much love through TV CHOSUN's 'Miss Trot 3'.
The song Miss Kim performed was 'Memory Serenade,' originally by Nam In-su. With her distinctive rustic bends and an emotionally charged voice and perfect resolution of the final notes, she fully conveyed the sentiment of traditional trot and captured viewers' attention. Miss Kim's sincere stage, which perfectly painted the plaintive melody and sorrowful atmosphere, inevitably moved those who watched, and the vote count, which rose quickly as soon as the stage began, maintained its intense heat until the end.
On Miss Kim's stage, Seol Woon-do said, "The trot genre is not for just anyone; you have to be born with it. This kind of talent almost got lost to beekeeping. As a senior, I really welcome and congratulate you. I think many hopefuls will gain strength from watching Miss Kim." He added, "I have one question. If you get a lot of bee stings, can you avoid getting Botox on your face?" which drew laughter from viewers. Miss Kim also said, "It certainly makes the face plump," proving the effect of the bee stings.
With high telephone votes and TVUT, Miss Kim finally clinched a victory on Challenge: Stage of Dreams. Miss Kim, who cried tears of joy at her first-place win, said emotionally, "There are no easy challenges in the world. I took a big breath, gathered my courage and came out, and something so grateful happened." Miss Kim's father, who came to the recording venue to support her, also expressed his joy, saying, "I am so happy," and celebrated the occasion.
