The returning 'Taxi Driver 3' Lee Je-hoon, Kim Eui-sung, Pyo Ye-jin, Jang Hyuk-jin and Bae Yoo-ram heated up fans' anticipation before the premiere by successfully concluding the fan meetup 'Rainbow Transportation reboot day.'
SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama Taxi Driver 3 (written by Oh Sang-ho / directed by Kang Bo-seung / produced by Studio S, Group Eight, BN Entertainment) is a series based on the webtoon of the same name, about the veil-shrouded taxi company Rainbow Transportation and taxi driver Kim Do-gi completing revenge on behalf of wronged victims as a private revenge-for-hire drama, and is set to air its new season's first episode on the 21st (Fri).
Given that the previous season ranked fifth (21%) in overall viewership among domestic terrestrial and cable dramas aired since 2023, an assured mega IP, anticipation is steadily rising for the return of the trusted Taxi Driver.
Ahead of Taxi Driver 3's premiere, a special event was held on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Mok-dong SBS. The stars of Taxi Driver 3 — Lee Je-hoon (as Kim Do-gi), Kim Eui-sung (as Representative Jang), Pyo Ye-jin (as Go-eun), Jang Hyuk-jin (as Chief Choi) and Bae Yoo-ram (as Assistant Park) — expressed their thanks to fans who had waited for the 'Rainbow five' over the past two years through a red carpet and fan meetup.
Titled 'Rainbow Transportation reboot day,' about 200 fans who won tickets through events announced on SBS's official SNS and online communities shone at the event, while disappointed fans who did not win also gathered at the red carpet to deliver passionate support. Fans from overseas, including China, Japan, Hong Kong and Vietnam, also came, proving the extraordinary interest in Taxi Driver 3.
On the fan meetup stage, Lee Je-hoon, Kim Eui-sung, Pyo Ye-jin, Jang Hyuk-jin and Bae Yoo-ram answered fans' questions about the new season through a Taxi Driver 3 spin-off and highlight video screening segment and a Q&A session. Rich events such as a 'lucky draw event' that handed out special gifts by lottery and a collective cider toast in which actors and fans together prayed for Taxi Driver 3's safe runs also energized fans.
Lee Je-hoon said, "I am so grateful and happy to be able to spend this precious time with you today," and Kim Eui-sung said, "Thank you so much for coming despite the difficulty. I hope you continue to send lots of support for the broadcasts when Taxi Driver 3 airs."
Pyo Ye-jin said, "Thanks to your love for us, we were able to reach season 3. Thank you so much. Please cherish today's good memories and be sure to watch the broadcast live," and Jang Hyuk-jin said, "Operations finally begin this Friday. Please show a lot of interest," they said in unison. Especially, Bae Yoo-ram, who attempted a four-line acrostic with 'Taxi Driver,' created the perfect slogan with a fan's help — "A taxi goes wherever crimes are! Season 3!" — eliciting enthusiastic cheers.
Having rebooted fan enthusiasm like this and with only box-office momentum ahead, the root of the 'cider hero' SBS's new drama Taxi Driver 3 will premiere on Nov. 21 (Fri) at 9:50 p.m.
