"Moana" will be made into a live-action film.
On the 18th, Disney confirmed the live-action Moana (director Thomas Kail) will open in July 2026 and released a teaser poster and teaser trailer.
The first teaser poster, released earlier, draws attention with a visual of Moana touching the tip of a rolling wave with one hand. The copy saying "a destiny-filled voyage coming to life more vividly" heightens curiosity about Moana's story as she forges her own path through adventure.
The teaser trailer released alongside it focuses attention with the visual of Catherine Lagaia perfectly transformed into Moana, as well as sea landscapes and sublime music that please the eyes and ears. In particular, the beautiful melody that plays from the start of the trailer and the fantastic visuals of the island and sea that form the story's setting make viewers look forward to the vivid cinematography born in live action. The Disney animated film Moana saw the first installment draw 2.31 million domestic viewers and about $640 million in global box office revenue, and the second installment drew 3.55 million domestic viewers and about $1.05 billion in global box office revenue, receiving great love worldwide.
