"Just Makeup" winner Paris Golden Hands revealed her thoughts on winning and the whereabouts of the prize money(?).
On the 18th, an interview was held at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul with Coupang Play variety show Just Makeup TOP 3 Paris Golden Hands (Min Kim), Sontail (Son Ju-hee), and O Dolce Vita (Oh Hyun-jung).
Coupang Play variety show Just Makeup is a mega makeup survival where makeup artists who represent K-beauty globally, beyond Korea, fiercely compete with their own colors.
Through the finale released on the 7th (Fri), the grand journey of the survival contest for the single K-beauty legend was completed in spectacular fashion. Since its release it ranked No. 1 in entertainment viewing satisfaction (source: Consumer Insight), was Coupang Play's most popular work for five consecutive weeks, received an IMDb rating of 8.5, entered the top 10 OTT rankings in seven overseas countries, and drew explosive global reactions, closing with the title of "the most talked-about variety show of the second half of 2025."
In particular, the much-anticipated final mission "DREAMS" featuring the last three—Paris Golden Hands · Sontail · O Dolce Vita—unfolded as a legendary stage that encompassed art, philosophy and identity beyond simple makeup, and after fierce competition Paris Golden Hands took the honor of winning.
On the day, Paris Golden Hands said of her winning thoughts, "I didn't expect it. You could see it on my face. I started with the mindset that it would be fun, and I prepared very hard for each round. There were cheers at every moment. That carried me to the final, but weren't they all so formidable. Honestly, my cheeks, I realized for the first time that I could tremble like that. I was really very nervous. I was really happy. I had never experienced anything like that. It felt like a new experience and a beginning."
Regarding the prize of 300 million won she said, "I received the prize. Filming ended in May, and it came in exactly two months later," adding jokingly, "(After receiving it) I put it away, but it felt really bad. It was received after tax. Many people were curious. They asked if it was special income, so deductions were smaller when it came in. I was happy."
She also recounted behind-the-scenes of participating, "I got a DM. At first I thought it was spam. After receiving the email, I thought it would be fun, so I said I'd do it. I have always enjoyed challenging myself. When something seemed fun, I didn't hesitate."
She continued, "I've worked overseas for almost 20 years, so although I'm a K artist, I haven't been involved in K-beauty work. I'm more on the high-fashion side, so when the recruitment first came in I felt I had to study. I watched beauty YouTube too. On the first day I even told Sontail unni that I was watching her well. I think I had been overlooking symmetry and delicate things in a way. I generally show makeup that presents an image. So while doing the missions I often found myself saying I was so jealous of the contestants. In that sense it was two-sided. I saw strengths in myself and thought they were cool, but there was also a feeling of 'I want to try that too,'" she said frankly, drawing attention.
