Announcer Kim Ju-ha appeared embarrassed when her wedding with her ex-husband was mentioned.
In a clip previewed on the 18th of MBN's "Kim Ju-ha's Day and Night," the first guest, announcer Kim Dong-geon, appeared and had a playful back-and-forth with Kim Ju-ha.
In the released clip, the first-episode guest, announcer Kim Dong-geon, appeared and talked. First, Kim Ju-ha said, "After that I got married and had a baby, and everyone came to the first birthday party," conveying their long-standing relationship, and Kim Dong-geon candidly said, "I went to the wedding and to the first birthday party."
Earlier, Kim Ju-ha married her ex-husband Mr. A in 2004 and had one son and one daughter. However, Kim Ju-ha alleged that Mr. A hid a past divorce when they married, repeatedly cheated and assaulted her during the marriage, and in 2013 she filed for divorce and for designation of guardianship against her ex-husband.
Ultimately, Kim Ju-ha received a final divorce ruling in June 2016, and the court ordered Mr. A to pay Kim Ju-ha 50 million won in alimony and ordered that of the 2.7 billion won in assets registered in Kim Ju-ha's name, 1.021 billion won be divided to Mr. A.
Both sides appealed the ruling, but the Supreme Court's 3rd division upheld the lower court's decision. Separately, Mr. A was sentenced to eight months in prison with a two-year suspension for injuring Kim Ju-ha during a marital fight.
When the wedding was mentioned that day, Kim Ju-ha showed embarrassment, saying, "I wasn't going to talk about the wedding, but I...," while Kim Dong-geon responded, "Why?" looking puzzled. Kim Ju-ha mumbled, "Well, there's that sort of thing," and Kim Dong-geon shot back, "So you had a baby without getting married? Isn't that skipping too much?" prompting laughter.
Kim Ju-ha replied, "Well, that could happen..," and Kim Dong-geon said, "You got married so you would have had a baby," adding, "And on the first birthday they called me again. So I went. When my juniors have babies I usually give a first-birthday ring. But at that time I gave Kim Ju-ha a kind of key, a golden key," he revealed to surprise. Kim Ju-ha said, "I still have it," and Kim Dong-geon joked, "If you sell that now you'd get a lot of money."
However, Kim Ju-ha cautiously opened up, "So I want to take this opportunity to offer an apology." Kim Dong-geon asked, "Why? What are you apologizing for?" and Kim Ju-ha confessed, "After that I didn't contact you well.."
Kim Dong-geon said, "Getting divorced isn't a crime. After the divorce she completely stopped calling me," and comedian Moon Se-yoon, listening, said, "She must have felt sorry," speaking for her feelings. Kim Dong-geon added, "Maybe that was the case. So I occasionally heard things through other people. Then she threw herself into broadcasting and did it much better. I thought she would become a big announcer," he revealed.
