HYBE and Geffen Records' global girl group KATSEYE debuted an unreleased new song for the first time during their solo North American tour, drawing enthusiastic responses.
KATSEYE opened the door to the "The BEAUTIFUL CHAOS" tour on the 15th (local time) at The Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The tour sold out immediately upon ticket release. Bolstered by fans' strong support, performances in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles were each added for an extra day, and tickets for the added dates also sold out quickly, proving that KATSEYE has risen to the ranks of the "hot" act.
At the first show, KATSEYE performed a total of 15 songs on the setlist. Their debut song "Debut" and global hits "Gabriela" and "Gnarly" were reborn with new arrangements that added dance breaks, driving the audience into a frenzy. In particular, when the unreleased song "Internet Girl" was premiered, the venue's energy instantly reached its peak. The song contains a message of confidently confronting the comparisons, evaluations and hatred women face online. The song's addictive chorus and KATSEYE's sharp, precise performances stand out.
There was also a stage that evoked nostalgia for the audition program "The Debut: Dream Academy" that formed KATSEYE. The six members (Daniella, Lala, Manon, Megan, Sophia, Yoonchae) put together a medley of songs they sang on the program, giving fans who have been with them since the group's beginning a special emotional moment. Fans who attended responded to the members' performances with passionate group singing and cheers, enjoying the show.
Right after the performance, enthusiastic reactions continued on social media. Fans left comments such as "It's surprising how noticeably their vocals and dance improve every time they go on stage. Today KATSEYE completely dominated the stage," and "I hope they release the unreleased song officially right away. I want to keep listening," expressing satisfaction with KATSEYE's performance and the new song stage.
Overseas media also showed great interest in KATSEYE's first North American tour. Fashion magazine Vogue cited the title of KATSEYE's hit and said, "KATSEYE reached another "gnarly" milestone this weekend," noting the group's sharp growth. The Minneapolis regional paper Star Tribune praised, "It was a flawless performance. The backflip in "Gabriela" and the palpable vocals delivered an authentic experience to fans."
Having successfully completed the Minneapolis show, KATSEYE will meet fans in Toronto on the 18th, Boston (Nov. 19), New York (Nov. 21, 22), Washington D.C. (Nov. 24), Atlanta (Nov. 26), Sugar Land (Nov. 29), Irving (Nov. 30), Phoenix (Dec. 3), San Francisco (Dec. 5, 6), Seattle (Dec. 9), Los Angeles (Dec. 12, 13) and Mexico City (Dec. 16).
Born under Chairman Bang Si-hyuk's "K-pop methodology," KATSEYE debuted in the United States last June after going through HYBE America's systematic T&D (training and development) system, and they made a major leap by being very active this year. Their second EP "BEAUTIFUL CHAOS" reached No. 4 on the U.S. "Billboard 200" (July 12 chart), and the track "Gabriela" set a personal best by reaching No. 33 on the "Hot 100" (Nov. 8 chart). It also reached No. 38 on the U.K. Official Chart (Oct. 18 chart) and No. 10 on Spotify's "Weekly Top Songs Global" (Oct. 3 chart).
KATSEYE also performed at major festival stages such as Lollapalooza Chicago in August and Summer Sonic 2025, showcasing their live and performance skills. Their campaign "Better in Denim" with clothing brand GAP created explosive buzz on social media, imprinting them on the public as a group with diversity, healthy beauty and overwhelming performance skills.
Thanks to these achievements, KATSEYE, which won their first award at one of the four major U.S. popular music ceremonies, the "2025 MTV Video Music Awards" (2025 MTV Video Music Awards, hereinafter "MTV VMA"), has been nominated for "Best New Artist" and "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance" at the 68th Grammy Awards to be held on Feb. 1 next year. In April of the same year, they will perform at the "Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival," known as the "stage of dreams."
