Actors Kim Min-jong and Ye Ji-won shared their thoughts after Florence won three awards at the Hollywood Film Festival.
On the 18th episode of KBS1's Morning Yard Tuesday guest segment, lead actors Kim Min-jong and Ye Ji-won from the film Florence, which won three awards at the Hollywood Film Festival, appeared as guests.
That day Kim Min-jong said about the film Florence, "The Korean release is Jan. 7 next year. It was originally on the 26th of this month, but it was pushed back a bit, so for those who want to see the film, we will have a special early release," he explained. Ye Ji-won said, "It runs from Nov. 26, but it's probably all sold out," conveying the explosive popularity.
To the announcer Um Ji-in's remark that "the overseas response is hot," he said, "I am very grateful," expressing his feelings. Then, when congratulated on winning three awards at the Hollywood Film Festival with "you received awards, congratulations," Kim Min-jong said, "What is happening. In all my life, something like this has happened again," showing his emotion. Ye Ji-won also confessed, "I can't believe it."
Kim Min-jong said, "I once received a popularity award at the Blue Dragon in 1996, but this is my first film festival award. And it's in Hollywood. It still doesn't feel very real to me."
Lee Kwang-ki also cheered, saying, "They will continue to win awards at various ceremonies around the world," and added, "I think Min-jong and Ye Ji-won will win best actor and best actress."
Kim Min-jong introduced the film as "a healing, restorative film about a middle-aged man who time-travels to Florence, Italy." Lee Kwang-ki said, "Unlike the action and provocative films these days, I think this will be an emotionally charged film by 1,000%."
When asked about his role, Kim Min-jong hinted, "I play a man in his 50s who finds lost time and heals his wounds," and Ye Ji-won said, "It's a secret, but since I'm here I'll reveal a little: this time I don't have a lot of lines. There is silence and aftertaste, and I'm curious too how audiences will receive it. From the 26th I'll go to theaters and share it with audiences."
