Broadcaster Kim Suyong's sudden collapse was revealed to have been caused by an acute myocardial infarction.
Kim Suyong's agency, Media Lab Siso, told OSEN on the 18th, "After being diagnosed with an acute myocardial infarction, Kim Suyong successfully underwent angioplasty today (the 18th) at Hanyang University Guri Hospital."
It added, "On the 17th he was moved to a general ward and is recovering his health under the medical staff's careful treatment and management."
The agency conveyed, "We deeply thank everyone who has sent warm support and encouragement, and the agency will do its best so that Kim Suyong can fully recover his health."
Earlier, on the afternoon of the 14th, Kim Suyong suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed while filming YouTube content in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province. Colleagues and staff on site immediately administered first aid, and the responding fire brigade performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation before urgently transporting him to Hanyang University Guri Hospital.
Afterward, Kim Suyong regained breathing and consciousness, and after stabilizing in the intensive care unit he was moved to a general ward and is recovering.
