With the sixth anniversary of KARA member the late Goo Hara just a week away, previously unreleased photos were made public, evoking a heavy feeling. The person who released the photos said they are now older than Goo Hara and expressed longing for the deceased.
Nov. 24, 2025, is the sixth anniversary of the late Goo Hara's passing. She died on Nov. 24, 2019, at the young age of 28.
Debuting in 2008 as KARA, the late Goo Hara, who gave birth to hits such as "Pretty Girl", "Honey", "Mister" and "Mamma Mia" and received great love, also stood out in activities in Japan, variety shows and acting.
Because Goo Hara always conveyed a bright appearance and positive energy, the sudden news of her death shocked not only the entertainment industry but society as a whole. Fans' longing continued, and the KARA members who performed with her released an album to mark their 15th anniversary and gifted Goo Hara the first-place trophy they won on a music show.
Goo Hara's older brother worked hard to enact the "Goo Hara Act," named after the deceased. The "Goo Hara Act" passed the National Assembly plenary session last year and includes provisions to limit inheritance for biological parents who fail to fulfill their child support obligations.
A week before Goo Hara's sixth anniversary, Han Seo-hee, who appears to have had a relationship with the deceased, posted on her blog, "In a few days it will be the day Goo Hara greatly betrayed me," expressing both blame toward Goo Hara for leaving suddenly and longing for her.
Han Seo-hee also released photos of Goo Hara that she had. The photos saw the light of day six years after Goo Hara's death and captured everyday moments of Goo Hara. They include images of her tying up bedhead hair and looking somewhere, and lying side by side with Han Seo-hee taking selfies, amplifying the longing for the deceased.
In particular, Han Seo-hee conveyed her longing for Goo Hara, saying, "Unnie, I'm older than you now. Call me unnie." Born in 1995, Han Seo-hee is four years younger than Goo Hara, who was born in 1991, but because Goo Hara's age stopped when she died at 28, only Han Seo-hee has aged and thus surpassed Goo Hara's age. The phrase "call me unnie" contains both the nature of Han Seo-hee and Goo Hara's relationship and a longing for her, creating a heavy feeling.
