Singer Son Tae-jin sings the upbeat and fresh "Love's Melody."
Son Tae-jin releases the digital single "Love's Melody" today (18th) at 6 p.m. on various music sites and returns to his fans.
The new song "Love's Melody" is a singeralong track that combines Son Tae-jin's signature rich voice over a flashy brass sound and uptempo rhythm, featuring an addictive melody and straightforward lyrics that stand out. It raises expectations for the birth of a bright and lively "public pick trot song" that contains a charm different from his previous deeply emotional work.
Last October Son Tae-jin showed a world of deep emotion through his full-length album "SHINE," drawing wide sympathy from fans with a solid classical-based vocal and a sincere message. In this single, he plans to present a more popular and brighter sound and communicate with listeners more closely through music.
With the single release Son Tae-jin will hold the "2025 Son Tae-jin national tour concert 'It's Son Time'" starting in Seoul on Dec. 6–7 and then in Daegu and Busan. Under the theme "Son Tae-jin's time," he will present a setlist that covers his unique musical colors to give fans a rich viewing experience.
Son Tae-jin shared a Q&A about the new song "Love's Melody."
Q. How do you feel about releasing the new song "Love's Melody"?
A. I always feel excited and grateful that I can share my story through music. I was busy running nonstop for the past few months, but amid that I wanted to welcome the end of the year warmly with a new song, so I prepared this. I worried a lot about what kind of song would be good and prepared with my best effort. I hope the fans like it a lot.
Q. What kind of song is the single "Love's Melody," and were there any parts you paid special attention to while recording?
A. "Love's Melody" is, as the name implies, a song that contains the purest emotions that come out when you love someone. It is a warm song in which an ear-catching melody blends well with an upbeat but fluttering emotional line. When recording I paid the most attention to a "spoken-like singing tone." I wanted to express the feeling of confessing love or carefully handing over a long-held heart. Since I have released and sung many lyrical songs before, I wanted to try singing along to a fresh song like this at least once.
Q. Your series of teaser contents showcased a romantic mood and drew attention. Can you share any memorable behind-the-scenes moments?
A. The atmosphere during filming was really calm and warm. The director and staff agreed, "Let's transfer the emotional line of this song directly to the screen," so I tried to capture as natural an expression and subtle emotional changes as possible. In particular, I was impressed by the passionate performances of the actors who worked with me. We filmed outdoors at night with sprinklers in that cold weather, and because of their age I was worried they might catch a cold, so I hoped for an OK quickly and did my best. Even amid that, I was so grateful that truly happy moments seemed to be captured.
Q. What are your plans after the single release, or are there any upcoming activities fans can look forward to?
A. Thankfully, I will greet fans through various broadcast programs and radio such as ENA "Even if you're directionally challenged it's okay," MBN "Unforgettable Duet," SBS "Passionate Basketball Team," and also the solo web variety show "Jin, what's wrong" season 2, but the most important thing may be the nationwide tour opening in Seoul at the end of the year. Because people take the time to come see my performances, I plan to pour everything in without regret, and I hope to give an unforgettable time, so I hope many will come to see it.
Q. If you had to describe the single "Love's Melody" in one word?
A. "Warmth." I think it is a song like a small warmth that gently covers someone's heart.
Q. Please say a word to the fans who are waiting for Son Tae-jin's new song.
A. The fact that you always wait for my music gives me great strength. This "Love's Melody" is a small confession I give to you. I made it hoping that as the weather soon turns to winter, the moment you hear it your day will become warmer. Because you are always there, I will repay you with better music. Thank you.<
