Starship's massive project "Debut's Plan" produced the new boy group IDID, which showcases a powerful sound and a more relaxed mood that demonstrates the rookie group's positive growth.
Starship on the 17th released the highlight medley and ice breaking for IDID (IDID·Jang Yonghun, Kim Minjae, Park Wonbin, Chu Yuchan, Park Seonghyun, Baek Junhoek, Jeong Semin)'s first digital single album PUSH BACK on the group's official channels. The promotion content, which emphasized a vintage sensibility, maximized the rough charm of this album.
The PUSH BACK highlight medley, which begins with the music player starting, features the highlight sections of the title track PUSH BACK and Heaven Smiles. If the title track PUSH BACK makes the chest throb with whistle sounds, guitar riffs and dynamic rhythms, Heaven Smiles cleanses K-pop fans' ears with its tasteful beat, refreshing melody and the members' distinctive vocal tones. In particular, the witty point of playing a song by spinning a plate instead of a CD ties into the album's concepts of fish, kitchen and ingredient storage, stimulating curiosity.
The ice breaking contains the members' Q&A, raising understanding and interest in the digital single album PUSH BACK. IDID members answer a variety of questions — their first impressions of PUSH BACK, the lyrics they like most, the parts they each want to show through this album, the member who best matches the title track PUSH BACK, and the member who discovered new charms while preparing this album — adding musical concerns and artistic thoughts to show they have grown a notch compared with their debut album.
The title Fill in with IDID's "Fill in" is a double meaning: it means "to fill," and as a drum term it is an expression that highlights the player's personality by giving variation between monotonous rhythms to make the song more vivid. IDID filled this album with the musical inspiration they wanted to express. In addition, PUSH BACK, expressed with each member's personal hashtag and hand drawings, reveals the members' personalities and tastes and elicits smiles. The tracklist like a flyer looking for a fish and the drawings and sheet music hastily filled with pencils and pens on paper with a similar texture also raise expectations for the group's distinctive transformation as they evolve from a "high-end refreshing idol" to a "high-end rough idol."
Earlier, IDID previewed a transformation that stimulates imagination through various promotions, from teaser videos emphasizing ice, instruments and fish in a fish tank to a showcase poster and timetable with a unique mood, a logo video IDID IN CHAOS using an object of refined ice breaking apart, and concept photos IN CHAOS, Find the new that expressed fresh enjoyment amid chaos, attracting fans' attention for their upcoming comeback activities.
IDID, who announced their main debut on Sept. 15 after a pre-debut in July, won first place on music shows just 12 days after their debut, and on the 15th won the IS Rising Star award at the 2025 Korea Grand Music Awards with iMBank (2025 KGMA), proving they are a representative rookie idol of 2025.
Meanwhile, IDID's first digital single album PUSH BACK will be released through various music sites at 6 p.m. on the 20th (Thu).
