'Must-listen performers' Monsta X (MONSTA X: Shownu·Minhyuk·Kihyun·Hyungwon·Jooheon·IM) proved their global influence with a new song.
Monsta X's U.S. digital single released on the 14th, 'baby blue', received concentrated attention from prominent foreign outlets, showcasing their presence.
U.S. business magazine Forbes (Forbes) published an article on the 14th (local time) saying Monsta X has returned for a new era with the single 'baby blue'.
Forbes described 'baby blue' as "Monsta X, marking their 10th anniversary since debut, reveals a more mature emotional line and opens a new chapter." It added, "If the previous song, 'Do What I Want', was a confident hip-hop track, this song is a composed but present R&B harmony with electronic synths and a minimal tempo that stands out, capturing both the loneliness and warmth of remembering a past love, achieving genre expansion and an evolution of sound identity," focusing on Monsta X's boundless musical spectrum.
Also, after the single's release, they announced they will join the 2025 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour in December, raising expectations for an even fuller 10th anniversary.
Additionally, U.K. music magazine NME explained, "Monsta X presents a new spectrum different from the sound they previously showed, based on an emotional and soft electro-pop beat," and praised Monsta X's relentless challenges and novelty, saying, "the 'K-pop chameleon' Monsta X refines and redefines every style and genre each time a new album comes out."
This single is their first official U.S. single in about four years since their second U.S. studio album in 2021, 'THE DREAMING'. When Monsta X entered the Billboard 200 for two consecutive weeks with 'THE DREAMING', they demonstrated a clear global presence, and 'baby blue', completed with deeper sentiment and a differentiated mood, is drawing intense interest from foreign media as well as the global fandom.
The new song 'baby blue' is a sensuous electronic pop track that depicts the gradual fading of love. Lyrical melodies and refined synth sounds convey warmth and emptiness simultaneously, beautifully expressing the recollections and emotions that follow a breakup.
Meanwhile, Monsta X will join the 2025 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour starting at Madison Square Garden in New York on Dec. 12 (local time). They are expected to continue the show across four cities, spectacularly celebrating their 10th anniversary.
