'The Red Sleeve', 'King the Land' and now three consecutive hits in a row, Lee Junho once again proved his strength.
On the 16th, the tvN weekend drama 'Typhoon Family' episode 12 recorded an average nationwide household rating of 9.9% and a peak of 11%, solidifying its No. 1 position across all channels in the same time slot.
The 2049 target rating also hit its own high, and the show is practically on the verge of breaking 10%. It is significant because it is rare for a drama to see ratings, buzz and engagement all rise simultaneously after passing midseason. Riding this upward trend, there is expectation whether it can reach the 15% promised in its pledge.
At the center of this rise is undoubtedly Lee Junho. Playing the bold rookie boss Kang Tae-poong, he recreated 1990s fashion at his own expense, added various performances and ad-libs, and completed the unique tone of 'Typhoon Family'. Following the dance performance that drew attention from the first broadcast, recently even the 'Shoebox safety shoes' scene in an advertisement has spread by word of mouth again, expanding his presence outside the drama.
Moreover, Lee Junho's acting trajectory appears to be heading toward the peak of his second act since debut. He was recognized for his acting in 'The Red Sleeve', dominated global buzz with 'King the Land', and now with 'Typhoon Family' he is poised to achieve the rare feat of three consecutive hit works.
This again proves why director Lee Na-jung, who directed 'Typhoon Family', described him as "an actor who has reached the top in both K-pop and K-drama."
His upcoming project lineup is also dazzling. Lee Junho is currently positively considering appearing in 'Veteran 3', and his appearance in the new Netflix series 'Cashero' has been confirmed. As he moves between the screen and OTT, expectations are rising for what kind of fourth consecutive hit Lee Junho will achieve after his drama successes.
Meanwhile, 'Typhoon Family' airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 p.m.
