With members of the group NewJeans expressing their intention to return to ADOR, ADOR has drawn its sword against malicious commenters.
ADOR said on the 17th, "Since NewJeans' debut until the present, we have continuously monitored domestic and international online communities, music sites and SNS channels, and we promptly request the removal of posts that infringe on artists' rights and take stern legal action. We are responding strongly to foreign-based sites without exception," it said.
It added, "However, judging that the seriousness of rights infringements such as the recent spread of malicious fake news about artists, invasion of privacy, use of profanity and derogatory names has increased further, we deployed additional personnel and conducted focused evidence gathering," and said, "We will file criminal complaints against those who posted malicious posts on online sites. Also, depending on the results of additional evidence gathering, we plan to carry out irregular additional complaints in the near future."
It also stressed, "We are responding even more severely to deepfake crimes. Recently, there were requests for settlements from deepfake perpetrators, but we refused them and conveyed our intention for severe punishment to investigative agencies. Furthermore, we are actively cooperating with investigative agencies to eradicate deepfake crimes against artists."
Finally, ADOR said, "Fans' interest and reporting are of great help in legal responses. We ask for active reports regarding infringements of artists' rights through the 'HYBE artist rights infringement reporting site.'"
Meanwhile, on the 12th ADOR said, "Members Haerin and Hye-in have decided to comply with their exclusive contracts and continue activities with ADOR." The company explained that the two decided to return after careful consideration with their families and in respect of the court's ruling.
But just two hours later, Min-ji, Hanni and Danielle also suddenly expressed their intention to return. However, that announcement was a unilateral notification made without prior consultation with ADOR. In response, ADOR said, "We are coordinating individual interview schedules with the members and will do our best to ensure smooth discussions."
